I actually hate the term 'rip a new arse'ole' it indicates a certain lack of 'class' - Don't you think?![]()
Anyway - When the fixtures were published in June I didn't relish the prospect of Cardiff City away for our first match back in the Championship and I still don't! Having read this thread I just hope your players are as confident of handing us a thrashing as some of your fans appear to be. Time will tell!
The truth is we've had a very, very average 'pre-season' result wise (that's if you count the results those games) however, we also took an early exit from the League Cup on Monday night losing to Preston NE 2-0 at Deepdale. Apart from the result we looked disjointed, disinterested and lacking in any creative ideas. Not good going into what I think is one of the hardest away trips of the season for us.
Given it's a Friday, two hundred and twenty miles away and it's on Live on Sky TV I doubt we'll have more than 500 there (self not included). Fans who do travel and those watching on TV will be looking for a massive improvement and genuine signs that our new players are starting to gel at last, regardless of the result.
I really would like to think we have a chance of getting something out of the game but I can't see it! I'll probably console myself by saying we're a team in transition and we can only improve. I just pray the scoreline's not a morale sapping embarrassment! Basically, we'll have to show at least 200% more in every aspects of the game compared to what we've seen so far, to gain anything on the night!
