I think we'll see a squad somewhere along these lines Friday...

Or do we think Velikonja might start? I thought he was decent against Newcastle

Velikonja has impressed me too, but I think that is the line up and formation Malky will start with.

Yeah, that first line up looks the best to be fair.

This would be my team as well.
Conway did nothing on Saturday against Newcastle to justify his selection ahead of Cowie. Unfortunately hasn't the pace to beat a full-back on the outside so I'd pick Cowie for his workrate and link-up play.
Vilikonja has pace and movement and, in my opinion, suites MM's prefered 4-5-1 formation better than Helguson.

If we are playing a lone striker it's gotta be helguson for me, better suited to hold the ball up and win headers etc

he has to stop playing cowie out wide as far as im concerned, i would go for conway personally

Pretty much agree with your starting XI, the only difference I can see is Cowie instead of Conway.

Didn't Conway win Man of the Match on Saturday ? I agree with The line up chosen by NickPenarth including the bench!

I'd like to see Whitts further up the pitch but I can see him playing deep in front of the back four this season - like he did against Newcastle.
He's on the ball alot then.
