The fans wanted him to pullout to allow the Pompey Trust to takeover the club.

This... Plus the local council are underwriting the trusts bid in some form. A few tough seasons ahead, but hopefully they'll come out of it stronger as a club. Hasn't that Chanrai played his part in their problems in the past anyway?
