Whos with me

although it would have been good for the youngsters tonight on the plus side for there xp, lets focus on the league i did not want a repeat of last years knocks and players over run with games only to fail in the league slowly slipping down table because of these things

We have a much bigger/stronger squad for this year though. I would of prefered to still be in the cup since we did so well last year. But oh well, onwards and up I guess. In Malky we trust

Would have been a great way for the youngsters to get experience, but otherwise, probably for the best.

Still think Malky wanted to win tonight, as he would have been able to give the youngsters another run out against a Football League club, instead of against their usual Under 21's or Academy standard opponents!

Of course he wanted to win i would have loved them to win but there was only so far this side could have went anyway with a build up of games i just didnt want a repeat of last seasons failings due to a small squad and over run with games thats what i ment keith, plus we gave some good talent a run out there are future

But you said in the title of your thread, that you were glad we were out of the cup!

I agree with the youngsters getting a good run out, which is why I think it would have benefitted us to get past Northampton, even though I don't feel so saddened as I would usually, as I think this season has to be about concentrating on promotion!

Don't worry it's the F.A Cup's turn this time.

We got a strong team and depth just for the league and nothing else for now, brilliant!

I completely agree mate
Basically the cup cost us last year, badly. It began as a run out for the youngsters and fringe players in first round then when things started getting tasty the prospect of another Wembley final became bigger than the ultimate goal of winning league games to strengthen our automatic promotion hopes.
I would rather see us get kicked out of all the cups early doors if it means we save ourselves formthe more important goal of going up automatically. Playoffs are not good to us.

I wouldn't say I'm pleased but I can't say I have been bothered about the result tonight. Seems like a pre-season friendly played at a stupid time.
