Masamah - 7.50 Nottingham

Tue Aug 14, 2012 3:57 pm

Just put a £20 win on this. This horse has regularly ran class 1 races and came 3rd in a field of 17 runners in a class 1 last time out. Tonight, it's dropping down to a class 3 standard, I'm not an expert on horseracing by any means and I don't usually bet on horses unless I'm actually at the races, but I don't see anything in this race stopping Masamah from winning. It's only a field of 5 in tonights race as well and a drop down to class 3 level after constantly running at a class 1 level should mean this horse is a different class to its competition. What do all the horseracing experts out there think?

The second fav Noble Storm has a 9lb pull with just under 2 lenghts to find on your selection and the race is more competitive than you think, however, your selection has a good chance though for me 6/4 is a bit skinny.

Good Luck

Cheers, I personally think Dinkum Diamond is the main threat. Noble Storm has ran over some class 1 level races but in the class 3 races Noble Storm has run, it hasn't exactly set the world alight. Dinkum Diamond has run over several class 1 races so will also be dropping down in standard, I don't think Dinkum Diamond is as good a horse as Masamah, but it's carrying 8 pounds less. I think Masamah is the best horse in the race by some distance and if it fails to win, it will be because of the extra weight it's carrying. With all that said you probably know a lot more about horseracing than I do, so we shall soon see.

Well I just put a bet on Mister Marc at the 6.20 in Nottingham, who previously came 2nd at a class 1 race at Naas. The race was a class 5 standard race, which seemed an absolutely massive drop in standard, but it came 3rd! How can a horse go from running 2nd at a class 1 standard race to 3rd at a class 5 standard race?
