HOW SAD IS THIS

Tue Aug 14, 2012 10:31 am

Fifty seven years old, been watching the City forever, and still excited about a game against lickle Northampton, couldn't sleep tidy last night now up and raring to go, counting down the minutes.

Got a real gut feeling that this is going to be our season, in Malky we trust. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Gwyn you say you have watched city forever I thought you played rugby for Pontypridd for years. Years ago all rugby kicked off at 2 30 on a Saturday and football at 3 so how was you able to be in 2 places at once.

I wish I could share your enthusiasm, but not even promotion would take away the hurt the Malaysians have caused :(

Didn't affect me that much at all to be honest, kick off times and days were all over the place and the amount of time I was injured (i.E. dropped ) meant I didn't miss out on many, but either way i have seen a good few games, but if it makes you feel beetr you can knock a few years off my total to prove a point.

What about the hurt if they hadn't rescued us from all the winding up orders when they did, wouldn't that have hurt even more ?

Administration would have been the most likely outcome if they never took control. If I had the choice, I'd take administration and everything that comes with it to retain our tradition :ayatollah:

Doubt that's possible now as the Malaysians have racked up so much debt liquidation would be most likely :(

So my only hope is that there's a decent turnout for the peaceful protest and the Malaysians actually consider returning to blue or at least agree on some sort of compromise. The current red kit and badge makes me want to vomit.

There is nothing to say we wouldn't have been liquidated if we had gone into administration in 2010. To exit admin the creditors would have to agree a CVA after a third party had made an offer to buy the club out of Admin. None of that was guaranteed in 2010.

I have been watching city for about 20 years, I play rugby on a Sat and wish I could do both. I went to the Game against Newcastle and I will be there again Friday.I will also be there any midweek games,Sunday Games and any Sat I am not playing (Blackpool away even though I will miss my game), Does this mean I am a lesser Fan cos i dont have a season ticket and go any Sat, Once my playing days are over I will get a season ticket? :ayatollah:

There was a big thread on plastic fans the other day.

Personally all I see is a fellow fan no matter how many games you may make or miss. This 'plastic' tag has been invented to expand the vanity of those who believe they are 'better supporters' due to their claim (without proof) that they have been around longer than most others.

All bollox IMO.

Exactly, and the way i look at it every new fans is a real bonus, isn't that what we are aiming for , thousands of new ones to fill huge stadiums and get behind the boys.
One of the boys down there used to be a patient of mine and ten years ago a big Man United fan, but in all fairness to him, he did actually go to Old Trafford, we always had the banter winding each other up, He is now a City season ticket holder and has been for eight years, I love it and still give him the old Man united crap, He is one of us and loves the club no less and no more than me, a convert and I luvs it.

You don`t have to go to every game to be a city fan mate, i took a few years off when my kids were little, still considered myself a city fan though..

You don't have to go to any games to be a big city fan!

Like Bellamy said "there's more to life than football"

My grandad is a massive fan but hasn't been down the stadium for years, his little old legs just won't allow it any more! :old:

Have't been to a game in two years but spend far to much time on this messageboard and go through agony every Saturday watching for updates of latest score.

Congratulations, you are f the day!! What an immature and pedantic post. I bet he has dedicated more time to Cardiff City than you have been alive...Pathetic!!

I have followed Cardiff since I can remember but happen to play football at a reasonable level so can't watch every Saturday but my stomach turns every Saturday after my game as I'm waiting for the results. Just because you are there in person doesn't make someone I better fan!

I started watching City in 1974 and had 1st ST in 1975 ...... however due to costs we spent 3 seasons watching Pontypridd RFC as ST holders instead from about 1977 to 1980 but then went back to Ninian Park to watch CCFC from then on watching both as much as possible :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:
