Drinking in Northampton

If you're travelling by car/mini bus and want to have a drink away from the hassle at the stadium and somewhere to leave the car for free, then I have checked inside my local - The Rover Pub. (I literally live opposite it)
They are fine and welcome away supporters (even those wearing colours).

Tbh this did surprised me as The Rover used to be "Home only". It closed down for a few months, but is now under new ownership. Hence the change of view and they told me today that they would more than welcome the extra trade.
Distance to the ground is about an 8 minute walk.

Other choice will be probably TGI Fridays opposite the ground, but not sure of parking fees.

Head for the Town Centre on the Weedon Road
Go past an Audi dealership, Matalan, Halfords etc.
Pub on the left at the bottom of hill, near a pedestrian crossing next to a reptile shop.

just look out for a 6'3 ginger git with a "blue" City shirt on.
Shouldn't be too many of those about.

Coming from the train station, whats the direction to this watering hole

Its on the way to the ground, out of station turn right onto Weedon road then keep going untill you pass the rugby ground on the left, the Rover is then about 100 yds further on the right, about 10 mins from station

Im sure this is water of a duck's back but the Rover was a known NAT pub. There is a bit of grief going back to 97 when the Soul Crew got more than they'd bargained for in Npton.
