Possible defender

Sun Aug 12, 2012 7:54 pm

Here's a list of CBs currently playing in the Premier League that are between 23 and 30 (not young or old) and are at least 6 foot. No unrealistic targets or ones that haven't played in the PL.

Matthew Connolly
John Djourou
Andy Wilkinson
Andrew Davies
Matthew Kilgallon
Kaspars Gorkss

Might be some others I dunno...

does the target still play in the Prem? I've seen some say that some not, if not then Shittu would fit the bill.

Liam Ridgewell and Chris Baird could also fit the bill but not sure what the playing status of them is at their respective clubs.

If you wider the criteria to allow up to 35 year olds (check Rivers' twitter account) and lower the height a touch then you could include these:

Danny Higginbotham
Gareth McAuley (might be 1st team at WBA though)
Matthew Upson (unlikely, injury prone)
Squillaci (wages might be problem, might be released not sure)

from people saying defender is 6ft odd and not old but not young, premier leauge experience and played most games last season in top flight well its got to be christophe berra, 27 yrs old, 6 ft 1, centre back but can play right back, hes already put a transfer request in and its been accepted so it all fits,

That is a very good shout, would be surprised if we got in ahead of some lower Prem teams like Southampton and Norwich who I think heard were interested.

Read Carl's latest update (should be stickied) he says that players lined up are not Martin Kelly or Boyata, plus that would be a loan anyway this move is permanent.
