SO TAN WAS RIGHT!!

Sat Aug 11, 2012 5:00 am

He has gauged the mood of the 'new supporter' very well indeed.

Red shirts are selling like hotcakes.

I'm sick to my stomach

But now I have a simple choice. Do i walk away from Cardiff City forever.
Or do I put up with it? We ARE a franchise type Club now. No turning back.
The MAJORITY have won.

The KCB lot are dead in the water.

the only REAL protest now is to do an FC United.

Anything else will just look like dummy spitting.

red f*cking shirts. for fucks sake

Will i ever get used to them? I doubt it.

Am I City til the day i die though? Definitely.

BLUEBIRDS FOREVER - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT EVER SING "COME ON YOU REDS"

(but I know they will)

MORE CHANCE OF KNITTING FOG THAN THERE IS OF ME EVER SINGING COME ON YOU DRAGONS
OR COME ON YOU REDS.

perhaps i really am old.

Its a sad day. But we just have to accept it
as Tans terms and conditions of saving the club.

Or knock Cardiff City on the head :(

It is all about being a franchise now, I myself am grateful we have owners with money to invest. Playing in red will feel strange but for me it has always been about supporting the team and club. Blue just happened to be the colour. If they change it to green in years to come I would still support the club.

Some may not like it but 7000 City fans witnessed the start of a new era tonight, the feel good factor and the buzz around the stadium was amazing. Let's really get behind the lads now and do everything we possibly can to get City to the Prem. :ayatollah:

Im a traditionalist and football romantic but Daves right we are part of the football franchise now wether we like it or not and there is nothing we can do about it except walk away, or reluctantly embrace it.

Can I walk away? No I cannot. Love my football and CCFC too much.

Blocking the red out Ive not been this excited about the team in years if I am honest. At least VT has thus far delivered on his promise to Malky. Some great signings.

"Against Modern Football" - Romantic slogan but in reality its worthless. Its too far down the road globally to change back, and the type of football owner now are single minded billionaires who have not made their money bowing down to others.
Protesting will get you nowhere with these kind of people. Its not like the old days where the local businessman owned the club and he could be intimidated. Those days are long gone.

I will never chant reds, or dragons, thats a compromise too far but I will be jumping on VTs vision train. Its either that or stand on the platform being bitter and cutting my nose off to spite my face.

Either way I will still have my memories. You can take the colour and badge away but you cannot take them. :old:

I live in hope that next season, that Bluebird will be bigger than the Dragon on the badge.

We will ALWAYS be the BLUEBIRDS.

Tan should not lose sight of that.

Weve got to live in hope that one day we will get the colour and badge back but I dont think we will until the club sees a change of ownership.

Prepared to give him benefit of the doubt at the minute as hes putting his money where his mouth is.

Times and football have changed we either move with it or stay behind without it only the supporter can decide that :(

Maybe VT has done his done his homework, carried out some research and knows what he's doing or maybe he just likes the colour Red, time will tell but last night was a result for VT

If everyone is enjoying themselves I don't see the problem.

That's what it's all about. Enjoying some footy on the weekend.

True. Very true.

Its time to remember football is entertainment. Being angry and fighting against the club all the time. Theres no enjoyment in hat unless you are one sad b*stard.

The word 'franchise' is of Anglo-French derivation - from franc - meaning free. ;) :D

Good post, although i accept the branding and am prepared to see where it takes us i will not be buying any red merchandise, i also don,t have any problem with people who do buy it, it,s their choice, i will forever support cardiff city and i will always be a bluebird, now lets bring on the football.

What if someone wore a Man U or Liverpool shirt and said "well it's red"

The same as if they wore a Chelsea one when we played in blue I would have thought ;)
