Seyi Olofinjana

Not saying bring him back or anything
Did anyone rate him at all? I think he was fantastic when he first game thought he as a vital player but was kind of to weak and players read what kind of player he was and just dropped in performances! :ayatollah:

When he was played as a proper anchor man in a 4-5-1 with Whittingham as a 'quarterback' sort of player and Drinkwater as a box-to-box midfielder, he was brilliant. That was whilst Chopra was injured early on during the season, and it worked very well. Unfortunately, when Chopra returned, the 4-4-2 was back and Olofinjana was paired with Whittingham in the middle after Drinkwater departed because of homesickness. After that, he was never quite the same; trying to do too much.

So the formation changing you think played a huge part? :ayatollah:

The way we played under DJ he was a huge asset when used correctly.

He isn't needed by us now.

He chipped in with more goals than I expected him too.

I'd take Willy Boland over him any day.

He made such a difference to the team defensively at the time. In fact so valueable that DJ played him when he clearly wasn't fit and still put in a decent performance IMO.

Jones played him too far forward, helped with goals but the team suffered defensively for it.

I'd have him back to come on for the last 15 minutes to shore up the midfield, but that's all and i'm fairly certain Kiss is good enough for that.

I don't think Kiss is good enough to lace Seyis boots.

I thought he was great, but towards the end of that season he was pushed forward & it did'nt work..

Kiss has the potential to be better than Seyi. Like it has already been stated, Seyi was very formation-dependent. 4-5-1 great but 4-4-2 no. Kiss is looking the same mind. He plays well in a 4-5-1 but struggles in a flat midfield four. Let's all admit it though, Kiss is there for comedy "kill" value.
