WHY IS IT WHEN PLAYERS MOVE ON THEY GET ABUSED?

looking at all the threads regarding GERRARD, BLAKE, BOTHROYD and all other players who leave this club like RAE, CHOPRA etc etc, WHY IS IT we never wish them the best and thank them for what they`ve done for our club BUT INSTEAD rip them to peices like they`ve commited murder ... BIT PATHETIC I RECKON! .... i can just imagine being layed off in work or leaving to work elsewhere and everyone at my workplace calling me a C**T AND THANK F**K that lazy b*stard is gone! .... for crying out loud fellow supporters WISE UP AND GET REAL!

Not true - Anthony Gerrard got abused even while he WAS with us

Not everybody gives ex-players abuse, by a long way. More often than not, players get a good reception on their return with other clubs.

Massive difference on the way people are talking about Darcy leaving compared to Gerrard.

Nobody abused Ramsey, Gunter, Earnie, Kavanagh, blake, Legg, Jerome, Burke, I could go on....... but we all know why they never got abuse!

Thats how it works in football these days one week the player is getting his cock sucked by fans the next hes the villain for moving on for more money or the club dont want them, the best saying i find is when some of are fans say "we only want players who want to play for cardiff so f**k him" when they move to another club

Gerrard did get quite a bit mouthy with some fans so I can see the abuse there. I still like Chops but obviously I wasn't happy with his drinking and gambling, especially when he denied he had a problem when he left cardiff, only to admit a few months later that he still had these problems whilst playing for us (i.e. playing through injury for money). Bothroyd got arrogant after his england call up so can see the abuse there. And finally, how can you abuse Gavin Rae!

Dont understand it myself.. although Bothroyd was up his own arse.. I don't blame Jay he thought he could be up there in the prem and he took his chance, even though he didn't prove much I still take him back.

The cunts in the Canton gave Burke too much abuse, a fantastic player we should have done more to keep. It's the plastic culture you see, the inability to appreciate players who don't play for Cardiff and the plastics first top four team.

I also remember the way that when he could have easily scored, he passed the ball to his team mate rather than score against us himself

Can't agree with you there Aherne. City fans are known for giving ex players a good welcome. You mentioned Chopra but he never got abused at either game as I remember, But he did get a mauling on here and I was one of them. But at the game I did not boo or clap. But when he got subbed I did clap for the respect he showed to us at our home game last season. But he disrespected our club with his antics. Bothroyd ???? Well he refused to play his best because he was refused a move. He is nothing short of a Chinese badminton player.
Gerrard was celebrating (allegedly) with Liverpool players.
If a player has given his all for the club and treated the shirt with dignity then City fans always remembers this and they will always get a fantastic reception. And have I missed something with Gavin Rae ? Never heard any abuse there.
