There are better players out there than Lawrence, dont think he impressed the first time around.

Lawrence said yesterday that he had offered to take a big drop in wages with Portsmouth in exchange for a longer contract with them and that he believed they would reach agreement before Friday. He also said he was still open to offers from any club, including Cardiff, where he enjoyed his loan last season.

Gut feeling is he will stay with Pompey on reduced terms but time will tell.

Last interview I seen he had lost 2.5m

End of the day he could have stayed with City on a nice cushy wage, Pompey agreed to pay him 36k a week, thats not his fault, if they couldnt afford to pay it they should never have offered it.

Feel sorry for Ben Haim, it's now his fault the club gave him a silly contract. He has lost millions in wages and now set to lose further in what was prob his prime earning time in his career. All this while the media and administrators tryin to make him out as prime evil.

In essence you have to look at these two guys (at least) Ben Haim an Lawrence, they are not getting what they signed up for to begin with. Would you kick off if your salary was cut by a shit load out of no where ???! Yes you would.
I take my hat off to Lawrence though, if he stays at the club on a lower wage that is what fans want really. A first team player ( he was captin after all) offering to cut his earings each year......
