Easiest way to judge it is to look where they get their players from and where they go to.

Most of the brits are journeymen no-marks like chris birchall, terry cooke or rooney's brother. So going by that, it's league one or two.

Rooneys brother is in MLS ? :?

its a blend of inexperienced american players and ex top flight players past ther best or average, hard to measure..

but they would get a schooling from any top 12 european side

Well I have only been a fan of the sport for the last few years...but it is growing in popularity, the problem is that American Football has a strangle hold on the sports world over here. Even Baseball which used to be "America's pastime" is dwarfed any time anything happens in the NFL in the States.

For example the Olympics....today the USA took the medal count lead.....but ESPN led with a story on the New York Jets practice ....ridiculous.

From what I have seen and read over the last few years I would say the MLS champions could be a mid-table team in the Championship but that's it. The average team in MLS is probably a lower Championship team or League One promotion contender. I do think anyone who thinks the MLS is League 2 is suffering from a little "homerism".....

Its great watching the MLS, packed crowds, new stadia, lots of action :D

its a different style of play - more open play, less physical more time on the ball
can`t compare really with Championship which is very physical and no time on the ball
but better than Div 1
