Planning to play a 0-8-2 formation next season are we?

Not a surprise as MM doesn't like him at the end of the day.
Maybe we will see a perm RB come in and Kev do Darcys role?

Or being overweight. Watched him tonight and he looks a bit puffy round the middle.

Exactly, shame really! A lot of our fans want him to do well but he's self destructing, had the chance to do well, I hope we get a bit of cash for him though

The lad is a disgrace.

Thousands of us would give our right arm to be able to play for the City and Wales.

The muppet dont deserve any sympathy.

He's had more than enough chances

Darcy has in fact been offered a new contract by the club but has turned it down so that sort of undoes the myth that MM doesn't rate him as a player.

I know that from his standpoint Darcy understands that he needs to be playing regular first team football to protect his position in the Welsh national team and sadly he feels he is unlikely to get the game time at Cardiff.

There are a number of Football League teams interested in signing him, with at least 3 at Championship level, which should tell us that many managers believe he has the talent to play at this level.

Darcy returned from the summer break having kept himself completely in the condition he was asked for by the club, in fact his condition was better, and rather than being a "disgrace" he has applied himself completely to the standards requested by MM and his backroom team. Darcy was also taken to Switzerland unlike Gerrard so he was likely to figure in MM squad, but not maybe every week, and that is the problem.

Darcy loves playing for this club but he also loves playing for Wales and that's why he has turned down the new contract, game time, not money and not sulking about the training regime or the lifestyle demands of the manager as he has applied himself to that, and I wish people would give him just a little more credit.

I think he deserves it.

Best news about this is that MM must have a RB \ Defender lined up. Don't think Darcy is good enough for a regular start but good for the bench can understand he wants to play more. Kev can become our cover for all sides of defence if a quality RB brought in

Hope not i really think he could push kev for a starting place this year or even cover the centre halfs

I hope he dont leave, but i understand he wants first team football....If Darcy did go we would a new RB & CB

Re: Tomorrow's Echo and Darcy Blake set to leave?

I would love Darcy to stay but for his own good he should move on. He is 23 now and really needs to nail down a starting role in his favoured position (wherever that may be?)

Fantastic player who amazingly has already given this club 6 years service in the first team squad.

Best of luck to him.

Re: Tomorrow's Echo and Darcy Blake set to leave?

Id love him to stay but he's too versatile for City and needs to play regular in just 1 position whatever that is ..... centre half seems to be his Wales position altho he's a tidy full back but will be 3rd behind Gunter & Taylor for Wales . Plus Matthews and Ricketts too also in the frame .

Malky obviously rated him as he was offered a new contract. If he didn't expect him to turn it down, why would he have another defender lined up?

Ask Wayne Rooney all about him after he marked him out of the game against England at Wembley :D

Re: Tomorrow's Echo and Darcy Blake set to leave?

Needs to pack the beer, toot and fighting in.

He should remember his job is on the pitch, not the terraces.

Needs to get a move away from his home cultures to make a real go of it. I do however feel he will be a bit like Gavin Henson when he moved to France - too dopey to understand a new culture.

London and New Tredegar are light years apart.

Darcy returned from the summer break having kept himself completely in the condition he was asked for by the club, Are you 100% positive about that? because there were some RUMOURS going around that MM wasn't happy with the way in which he returned after his summer break? Not saying it's incorrect, just mentioning the rumours...

Craig I can promise you Darcy was offered a two year contract extension which would have kept it at the club for another 3 years, I don't know the terms but I have been told he was not unhappy with the money so make of that what you will.

I am 100% sure he returned for pre season in better shape than he was asked to and MM was delighted with that, as the was with nearly all of the other players.

Darcy is looking for regular first team football and it is most likely that he will have to move on to get it, but that will be a huge wrench for him because he loves the club, and despite rumours he has worked really to make it here. He has a lot of respect for MM but without regular first team football his Wales place will likely come under threat and that's why he will move on.

It's just my opinion but he deserves a lot more than being called a disgrace. A lot more.
