I could be wrong but did Scarborough go out of business and then not reform?
Maybe they have and i just haven't heard of them as a new club.

Thames AFC played in the league in the early 30's then went out of business and were not reformed. I think City recorded their record League win against them - something like 11-1

Scarborough definatley went out of business completely. The Mcain Stadium is now demolished.
A new team has reformed under the name Scarborough Athletic, who play in the Bridlington league ( below Merthyr standard), and actually play their home games 17 miles away in Filey.
Somebody mentined Aberdare Athletic , Bradford PA, Newport County and I know there are a few others.
If Glasgow Rangers can go ( they had 38,000 last night, but the crowd was nearer 48,000 unofficially) , anyone can these days.

In my time ( going back a while!), Bradford Park Avenue, Third Lanark, Accrington Stanley, and Newport County. But I think that they all came back in one form or another. Just shows the staying power of football clubs, and their fans.

Norfolk Inchans we're never able to make their way back after they collapsed in the early 20s
