Huddersfield Town sign Anthony Gerrard from Cardiff City

Huddersfield Town have signed Cardiff City defender Anthony Gerrard for £350,000 on a three-year contract.
The 26-year-old has not played for the Bluebirds since missing a vital penalty in City's Carling Cup final loss to Liverpool in February.
He was also left out of Cardiff's pre-season tour by manager Malky Mackay.
Gerrard, cousin of Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, joined Cardiff from Walsall in 2009 and spent the 2010-11 campaign on loan at Hull City.
The former Everton trainee is the latest of a string of acquisitions by Town manager Simon Grayson as he prepares the newly promoted Terriers for life in the Championship.
Other summer signings include Adam Clayton from Leeds, midfielder Oliver Norwood from Manchester United, defender Paul Dixon from Dundee United and winger Sean Scannell from Crystal Palace.
The West Yorkshire club have also demonstrated their intent by turning down an offer believed to be worth up to £4m for star striker Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn Rovers.

Let's hope we are able to sign a few defenders, I believe we need too.

I wouldn't have even paid 100k for him. I honestly don't believe he's a top-half Championship standard player.

Along with I Bleed Blue.. you can judge a players performance badly but if theres one thing I get behind every player at this club.

He is not good enough.. I never want him to stay.. but think about other players for Cardiff who didn't have the guts to stand up and take a penalty.. If he really cared about Liverpool he wouldn't of took a penalty.

I agree Gerrard might be a bit of a dick off field but I thought he did very well for us on the pitch, if you don't count taking penalties.

I think if anyone had missed that final penalty they would of be the worst player in the world, anyway good luck to him and thanks for his services when he was required.

Hang on a min. This is the guy that was desperate to play! when he did he would score. he's supposed to be a defender. This Is the guy who held aloft his black arm band when he scored as a tribute to mikey die, this is the guy who had the balls to take a penalty against massive pressure at wembley. I thought he was alright if I'm honest. Let's just hope he leaves his quality at home on the 17th
