MATT LE TISSIER

Just watching a documentary on him on ESPN.

What a player. Most talented British player in my lifetime.

Had the privelage of seeing him at NP in the mid 90s. Got dogs abuse from the crowd, took us to
the cleaners and got a standing ovation. Fair play he clapped the whole ground.

Top player, top bloke.

One of my favourite ever players.
If he was another nationality he would lauded a lot more than he is.

He was simply on another level on his day.

He was told he should leave southampton and join man u or Liverpool or it will affect his career but he stayed loyal to Southampton and it affect his career in many ways as he never got picked for England any where as many as he should have been picked but he was a great player with Loyalty that you will not see much in modern football

Two things I remember from that was his goal where he skinned pretty much every single city player (even though lee lee lee baddely) was down injured in there area which was deffo a pen. But cracking goal nevertheless ;)

Also the saints fans singing he'll never play for Wales (we were courting him at the time cos he'd never played a competitive match ) and the city faithful replying he'll never play for England (which he didn't after that match)

Good times :D

I did think about it before I made that statement but for me Gazza wasted his talent.

Injuries and personal problems meant we never really got to see his full potential imo.

Correct. Scored 47 out of 48. Great record.

He said the saints fans nicknamed him Le God and he started getting hate mail from religious groups for accepting such a nickname.
