Let's Get One Thing Straight.

For what my opinion is worth, I'm all for a protest outside of the stadium. As far as a protest inside the stadium is a different matter. But from what I have read from the KCB statement they plan on holding a couple of scarfs, banners and cards up on the 8th min of the match, it doesn't say how long that will go on for but from what I can make out it won't be a long protest.

So from my point of view this is peaceful, no chanting, no shouting, just a show of colours. The only people who will make this a non peaceful protest is the people threatening the protesters with violence.

Iv not played in front of 20k people before but have played enough football at a decent level to know that once I step on a field I think of nothing more but what my job is on the pitch. I take no notice of what's going on around the pitch (Believe me when I say I have played in games with threats and racial abuse coming from the side) I am not a professional football player just an ordinary guy like many others who plays football at the weekend, And if I can concentrate on the game with threats and racial abuse coming from the side I'm sure a professional who gets paid thousands a week can concentrate on the job in hand when there is a couple of blue scarfs, banners and posters are shown just for a moment during a game.

So what will it achieve? Nothing can change the fact we WILL be playing in red this season! Why risk dissrupting the players for nothing? Its pathetic!

Read my post again, it wot disrupt the players. It's a couple of bloody scarfs and banners. It's not like there's seats and coins being thrown at opposite fans, which has happened in the past, didn't see any of the players disrupted then.

Granted we can't change anything right now, but the more we lobby against Tans decision the more chance of a return to blue and atleast a badge that looks half decent.

I do see your point about players not being distracted by "scarfs and banners" but what if that upsets other fans and that then snowballs into something more ? I am sure the badge will change next season, but imo (unfortunately) we will be stuck with red for at least 2 seasons :-(

Then thats not the fault of the fans protesting is it? All the rest of the supporters have to do is carry on watching the game and ignore it. From what I have made out from the statement the protest wont go on for long inside the stadium anyway so won't be hard to ignore.

Prevention is better than a cure. Just do not do it inside the ground while the game is on ;)

I can see (although I hope not) some fans seeing this as an anti Tan protest.(inside and out)
