Protesting before the huddersfield game?

Mon Aug 06, 2012 5:22 pm

I think its pathetic
It doesnt matter how much the little minority protest we will be playing in red all season.
The vast majority will just enter the stadium because no matter what colour red or blue they just want to watch cardiff city play football and enjoy themselves.

Wankers. Lets upset the team and piss the owners off.

I hope Macca has a team of security at the ccs to sort these cretins out.

No one wants red but protesting at the stadium ffs. Stupid stupid move.

The vast majority of Fans dont use message Boards, If one is going by thread counts then one will be surprised when the season starts because the majority of Fans I know of are not having any of the new brand boll'x. :old:

lets counter act the protest and to the idoits protesting lets all egg the bastards :ayatollah: only joking, theres otherways to protest it should not take place before during or after match days!, by all means usee the internet with your own websites keep sending hundreds apon hundreds of emails to the club and vt personal email if you guys know it, but leave it away from match days and let the other fans enjoy the experience especailly the young kids! piss them off now and in the future there might not be many fans interested in cardiff city! and no not because we are wearing a poxy red shirt at HOME!

if they want to do a peaceful protest just ignore it they didnt say they want to smash anything up, just hope gwyn dont threaten anyone

Re: Protesting before the huddersfield game?

Mon Aug 06, 2012 8:45 pm

Everyone has a right to protest peacefully. Agreed. But IF it's to be done, then peaceful it must be. Banners, flags, whatever you wish. But if it's not done peacefully you will simply alienate yourselves from everyone else around you.

Personally... Protesting will not change the situation. Buy your blue shirts, have a huge bluebirds flag that covers an entire stand like they do abroad. Make it big, make it blue, stay away if need be.

It makes me laugh when people say they are against 'modern' football. Football became modern years ago when Trevor Francis became the first million pound signing under Brian Clough. Football is modern in the fact we have a brand new shiny stadium, state of the art training facilities and players that earn more in a week what most of us earn in a year. Football is modern in the fact (like it or not) clubs are often snapped up by multi millionaire/billionaires. Man city, Chelsea, qpr, are testament to the modern game working for them. Portsmouth, Leeds of course are examples of the modern game not working for them.

The club isn't 'ours', we don't own it. We pay to watch a match and hope that those 'modern' businessmen that do own the club make our club great once more.

I for one am sorry our rebranding has delivered red home shirts over our blue, but I will be there every game each and every season whether we wear red, blue or pink.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I'm sure you posted that you don't go to games these days and havent for years ?

For what its worth, peaceful protests which are designed not to affect the team, like blue placards, wearing blue and singing Bluebirds etc.. are OK IMHO.

What I object to is KCB encouraging people to cut the clubs forms of income, (return STs, boycott games, merchandise, food etc..) which ironically will make us even more dependent on VT than ever -how fecking stupid is that ! :(

I am willing to follow a peaceful campaign to oppose the Red shit but when the team comes out I will hate to see em in that utter shit kit but I will be supporting the team 100 %.

You are right, The vast majority of anti-re-brand probably wont protest, But that means the majority of Cardiff Fans feel that Their hands are tied, If Cardiff City are not in the top six January the tied hands will twitch, If City are not in the Top two by March the ties will loosen, and if Cardiff are not in the top six period season's end, Anything Red will be a distant nightmare. IF Cardiff achieve promotion to the Prem, Then we'l just have more plastics than we do already!!!!

Surely 90% of our fans are plastics in your eyes then. Where was everyone in the late 90s etc when we were getting a couple of thousand at home? Everybody starts somewhere, if we get promoted and we get a few more going to the games, and they start to slowly embrace the club, the club is the winner, a fan is a fan. Not one fan is better than the next.

With regards to those that want our club back to blue, you'd better start saving, and buy the club back. We are all greedy and selfish fans. VT saved the club, paid the wages of staff and stopped us going under. And all in return for a red kit and badge change? Alot bigger clubs than ours have changed badges, and a lot bigger clubs play in far worse kits. Its a colour and crest! The name will always live on,as will the bluebirds!

So you think protesting is pathetic. In your utopian society women still wouldn't have the vote and apartheid would still be rife in the States. It is your stance which is pathetic. When you have no principles society descends into chaos. It was only those with principles who caused the slave trade to end. Oh that more were principled in today's society.
