There is always something special about homegrown kids. I remember the likes of Jason Perry and Damon Searle making their debuts in late 80s (think Perrys was v orient and searle v peterboro) and the crowd always warm to the local kids. Lets hope that at least 3 or 4 of the current crop make it to the very top.

played against Ian many times as a kid when he played for Abercynon.

CP I played in the same team with those guys for the Cynon Valley.
Used to play against Abercynon myself too, who did you play for?

my cousins lad, Jaye Bowen, is with the u 18s but not sure he will make the grade. Quick feet and excellent technically like Jason but doesnt have his burst of pace.

his younger brother Sam is with Citys u14s and is supposed to be a good prospect. a tough tackling midfielder so nothing like his dad :D

Yeah know Ian well. Didn't quite make the grade at City but was an accomplished full back. His son is at our academy and I've heard he's one the best for his age. Lee Phillips too. Lee played quite a few games in our fourth division side just before Sam Hammam took over. Alan Lewis is a good friend of mine. Had a couple of seasons here as pro. Blackburn were in for him at the time but it never worked out

I assumed Tommy was related to John too but its a different O'Sullivan family. There can't be too many different O'Sul clans in the mount!!

Heard quite a bit about Tommy O'Sullivan. How would you describe him as a player? What are his main qualities? Is he strong, lean and silky, has he got pace...a good shot?? :ayatollah:
