Would a better badge make you happier?

Fri Aug 03, 2012 11:52 pm

Serious question.

One of the things that has annoyed me most is the terrible badge.

I think if we had a decent badge, even if red, say Karl's badge, I could accept this a lot more.

I just think the current badge shows the complete disrespect to the club, the history and the fans.

We at least deserved some thought in the process of the new badge and something classy to mark out history.

The whole fiasco has been a disaster.

I personally would have went with Karl's badge after a fan competition and had 'Forever A Bluebird' across the back of the necks with a little bluebird underneath it.

Our owners shamefully did nothing like that.

There is a bluebird on the badge if you didn't know.

I think the quality of the badge has annoyed the vast majority.

Like I've said before, I can relate to the idea of this badge more than Sams, it's says Cardiff City on it and had a bluebird on it (although smaller) but those two together are the most important.

The club had a chance to create a new badge of good quality and failed with something designed by a office junior (or so it seems).

Te original badge will always be my badge but for me the change of crest was nothing compared to the change of colours.

Dropping that crappy dragon as the main emblem and putting the bluebird back in its rightful place would be a start. :ayatollah:

I can handle the badge its
The change to red I cant handle

Haven't the club suggested that this badge will be a one season wonder with a poll set up for next year, even though the choices will be heavily biased.

However much we like Karl's badge, it does not respect the clubs history anymore than the new badge for this season. With that in mind I can only assume its DEFINATELY the quality of the current badge that everyone is most annoyed with.

My same thoughts.
It's just the quality (or lack of) of the new badge that annoys me further.

They should have reversed the traditional badge imo.

Make it red, swap the Bluebird and Dragon. Job done. Classy badge that marries new and old Cardiff together.

I like the idea but when I seen it, to me it felt wrong and I didn't like it for some reason

I can see what you mean. It would feel to some like a bastardisation of our traditional badge but every time I've seen it I've felt I'm looking at a real Cardiff badge.

Better a bastardisation than an abomination.

The club handling the whole thing far better from the onset would have made e happier. I'm not saying I would have been thrilled but the way it was done was dyer.

Karl's badge was far better than any of the others and a hell of a lot better than the one the club went for.

Agreed. I would jump at the chance for a reversed traditional badge.

It would have made it easier but I'm also upset at the change of colour. The quality of the badge is terrible and looks like something designed by a kid in pre school.

The clubs handling of the whole thing has been terrible from start to finish.

I do like that. Ca'nt believe we paid a design firm to come up with the current monstrocity. A classroom of infants would have come up with better.

Brilliant badge design, I've set it as my PC wallpaper. The only change I would perhaps make is to swap Est. 1899 and 'Fire and Passion' around. Other than that I'd happily call that our badge, great work.
