sam hammans gamble

good post from the other board anyone agree

The more i think about the situation facing the club with Sam Langston Hammam, the more comfortable i am that it will be resolved to our satisfaction and not his.

Did Sam, in his wildest dreams imagine that one of the wealthiest men in South East Asia would be drawn to this club? I dont think so.

Sams' world, where Cardiff City would be as big as Barcelona was a world where he was King. What Sam has done is get ideas above his station and all the while he had his emergency parachute, the Langston loan.

Unfortunately for the hapless arab crook, he forecast a situation where Cardiff City would be solely dependant on him and him alone, and with all the cards, he couldnt lose. He probably saw a scenario where he could sell the club as a Premiership package and make gravy.

Dato Tan Ghee is probably a more successful businessman than Sam in his own right, and he is just the front man for the billionaire Vincent Tan.

There will be nothing particularly unusual in all these wranglings for the two, they have probably been involved in a few similar deals themselves.

This has turned into a David v Goliath but with everyone being on the side of Goliath, and David being loathed.

In this case though David doesn't have a slingshot, and there are no stones around him, only quicksand.

There will be many people delighted when Sam gets his (or doesnt in this case) and the fair people of Wimbledon, who warned us many moons ago, can have the first laugh.

Don't really agree, the only way Sam was ever going to get paid was by a rich business man taking over as the club was never realistically going to be able to pay him just from profit of which we have very rarely made for a long time.

End of the day sam only want 10millon, then he decided he wanted an extra 5 million bonus! Plus this what's being told to us. I wouldn't be surprised if he said he wanted 20 million behind closed doors. RIP wimbeldon AFC!

this ^^^ a rich person taking over was what sam wanted. What he didn't want was that rich man to be as a stubborn as Tan. He wanted a quick settlement because he fears a court case IMO.

Nonsense. As much as I dislike Sam I will say he has always wanted £15 (£10m + £5m promotion bonus). Blame the media for spouting the £10m only nonsense. Sam has always wanted £15m.

Not what I've heard for the last few months, Sam's not to be trusted that's all I'm trying to say

Sam's as mad as a hatter. Bigger than Barcalona, Telling Jones to sign Lampard, A mad man he is and a wreckless one at that.

Langstone would have been in pole position if the club went into admin after the play off defeat, as they should have without the Malaysians involvement.

Blame the Media?

We have been spoonfed EXACTLY what Sam wanted us to hear.

It Was ten million straight. Horses mouth practically, on here.

If it was ten million plus the five million bonus. You'd have heard it here first.

Best guess is... Sam threw the Ten million in, then tried the old "dont forget the five
million promotion bonus when you go up tho eh?"

... Tan just put the money back in the bank and smiled :D

We were insolvent though and had no money? He wouldn't have got his 15m that way either.

IMO he didn't want the money he wanted control of the club and this would have given him control of a debt free Cardiff City with a shiny new stadium for less than 10m(max), remember the council said no new stadium while Sam was involved.

Of course if Langston are a hedgefund which SH and his family have no financial links to, then my theory is total bollocks.
