A CALL FOR A FAIR VOTE ON BADGE & COLOUR

Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:44 pm

OK we can't do much about this season but to just get on with things and get behind Malky and the boys, however I call upon the club to hold a true vote on fans at CCS either on Sunday 2nd Sept v Wolves or Saturday 15th September v Leeds. On either of these fixtures we should as near as damn it a full house or we should have, I ask the club to issue a poll without the threat of their usual "RED OR DEAD" hype and scaremongering innocent & genuine fans, a poll issued on entry of the ground and polling stations posted in easy access in all areas of the ground. I would also ask that votes be counted by someone independent of the club, this would be the most fairest way of fans views without the Mickey Mouse way its been portrayed by the club itself. Id ask this so early on in the season so what ever the result we just have to except it and get on with things.

Us fans have no manifesto and dont needs one but Id ask the club to show its one before the day of the poll, I still believe and there is nobody on this planet that can convince me other that we needed to change our badge and colour. I stated earlier about Tan Sri Anthony Francis Fernandes aka Tony Fernandes of QPR, yes blue & white QPR on how to promote a football club in Asia.

This colour change & dishonour of our badge seems nothing more than a personal preference or superstition, obviously VT has seen scope to profit from our club and lets be honest here its the only reason why he is here. So whatever colour and badge we have the potential is still there.

Won't happen though, obviously.

I think the best we can hope for is a push for our crest back or at least something closer to it next season

It might do if the fans promote and demand it

I am sure Gwyn can help us, he seems to have a lot of influence.

Sounds great Rich, and if 51% of the fans vote against it, will he have to change it by law then ? or does he get extra votes because he's the owner?

Also are the 24,000 fans entering the stadium going to draw the badge they would like to see, or will the stewards have a few pages of choices we can make ?

Its why the vote/poll should be carried out by a independent body(not VC btw  )

There is nothing we can do about it this season but a true reflection of the vote is something the club/VT can ignore is it.

Due to the changes I can't see us getting 24k in the stadium. Fans should have been consulted prior to the rebrand but were not. Perhaps the possibility of a no vote had been taken into account.

Cannot see our average crowds exceeding 19k/20k this season if that.

I dont know how true it is but it was alleged that a application to the FL was made well before it came to light.

Like you said we cant change it for this season so why do you want to do this a few weeks in?

Re: A CALL FOR A FAIR VOTE ON BADGE & COLOUR

Simple question, how many fans would have renewed their season ticket if the re branding had been done prior to the ST renewal period. There was also the incentive of a ticket/ extra cup final ticket if ST were renewed then.

Simply so we dont have to dwell on it for the rest of the season, get a true vote out of the way and except that result and move on I suppose.

Its pretty bloody obvious noboday WANTS red so I dont see what the vote will achieve.

Tans not going to change it this season so you need to stop dwelling on it.

and if nobody protests and we all accept the re-brand they will say "see they are in favour of it or at least dont care, so we continue in red and with the beermat"

Just a nicer badge would be something. Karl's badge that's a few people's avatar's was far better than this season's badge (what isn't).

Lets do nothing then and accept it and move on, is that what you want.....

If its pretty obvious that fans dont want red then let these dates show VT how much and democratically we are against it and by doing it fairly without all the CCFC is "RED OR DEAD" hype. I think you'll find alot of pro reds have wised up by now.

The time to protest was when the news broke not in the ground hindering Malky and the lads.

Lets be honest when VT looked like he was about to walk away everyone shit themselves.

But now the dust has settled again you want to protest again whilst upsetting the team.

Triffic

Who'll be monitoring the Hitler Youth standing 'unconditionally' by any ballot boxes ?

It's done , Tan leaves a bad taste , we'll regroup and make our views known as befitting Bluebird fans .

Get behind the players & Malky and make sure we play our part in a successful campaign . My fear atm is that if we don't hit the ground running then there's gonna be some comeback somewhere .

The unilateral rebrand has to have a price !? MASSIVE season !?

:o :o :o

Well if you'd bother reading the thread correctly you'd have seen that not once did I mention a protest, protesting is futile. All I asked for is a independent fair vote at the said dates.

Rich, don't want to come over as a condescending tw*t, but you really don't get it do you. The club is not run by a committee, it ain't a democracy, it's a business controlled by one man.
You can have a vote every week if you want, and it can be one hundred per cent against every time, but that don't mean jot to VT.
He don't have to change anything just because the fans want or even demand it. I am sure he is well aware the rebrand is far from popular, cancelling a few season tickets, not buying shirts and programmes is not going to mean diddly squat to a man who employs 150,000 people and is a Billionaire.

He needs to get us in the Premiership and make us successful to get a return or profit and also massage his ego and put another success on his business CV, As I see it, we either trust him hope for the best or we totally piss him off and he just walks away after getting what he can back.

Vote as often as you want if it occupies you, but ask yourself what do you think it will achieve.

You cannot vote for something that isnt even an option at the minute.

Totally pointless.

Oh I know Gwyn, I know exactly where your coming from and understand fully. I really dont think VT understands the feelings of the rebranding, he simply has no idea of the meaning of CCFC. Like you said its his club and he can do what the hell he likes with it but I honestly dont think that reports are getting back to him about the upset its causing. This way a early vote and I say early to get it out of the way, done and dusted so we can concentrate fully on the football for the rest of the season.

I know Im clutching at straws Gwyn but what else can we do :(

True enough I suppose, I often wonder if VT knows or gets true reports back to him about the rebranding and the upset it causes.
