Loving Mackay's philosophy! (POSITIVE POST!!!)

Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:00 am

I know a lot of us have been frustrated by at times a lack of transfer activity but credit to Malky Mackay and his backroom staff for building a young and exciting squad. In comparison to a lot of other Championship clubs such as Leeds (signing David Norris, Paddy Kenny, Adam Drury, Andy Gray, etc) and Blackburn (signing Danny Murphy and Nuno Gomes) we seem to be bucking the trend a little and developing a squad that not only has the potential to challenge this season but if kept together will only get better season after season. Although I would love to get promoted this season, I also find it satisfying to know that if we fail this time around then next year we will be even stornger (equally pleasing that the Malyasian seem to very reluctant to sell as well)

Cardiff City players under 25.
Darcy Blake 23
Kim Bo-Kyung 22
Rudy Gestede 23
Aron Gunnarsson 23
Kadeem Harris 19
Filip Kiss 21
Joe Lewis 24
Joe Mason 21
Jordon Mutch 20
Joe Ralls 18
Ben Turner 24
Etien Velikonja 23

Very exciting times ahead IMO, I doubt there are many, if any, other Championship teams who can compare to that list of young talent. Just a matter of time before the mighty BLUEBIRDS are competing in the PL!!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Agree and although i might be in a minority who thought Dave Jones did a good job overall, but one of his faults was signing more mature players from Clubs he had previously managed many who were past their sell by date :(

Whereas Malky seems to be looking at young potential talent eg Mason & Harris who can be developed and improved :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

And with all due respect to all these what did we get in return? Not a huge ammount, they may have got a few goals between them but they we're all on big salaries and left for nothing/practically nothing. They certainly didn't warrant their outlay.

You could also add Nathaniel Jarvis on that list. Malky said he has hopes for him this season.

Great post! :ayatollah:

He deserves a chance your right. Every time he's come on or given a few games like 2 seasons ago along side gerrard he's played very well.
Maybe it's time to try him out in a different position?

I'm fairly sure fans were excited about Koumas' return due to the transfer embargo being lifted.

Good long term plans, just like all the others in place, wish people could see it not all about promotion this season, a good long term plan and a secure future, hopefully we will look back on these times as the turning point. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
