4 defenders i think it could be...

Having read these descriptions by City Gent...

"We're in talks with a premier league club over a loan deal for a defender."

"The defender we're moving in for is very highly rated. Young and quite a lot of top flight football behind him."

"I think he's comfortable at centre or right back."

"This defender would definitely command a regular first team spot."

I think the defender could be one of...

Kyle Bartley (Arsenal)
Martin Kelly (Liverpool)
Dedrick Boyata (Man City)
Ryan Shotton (Stoke)

I cant think of any more but if anyone's got any other suggestions then please add them to the mix, and what would people make of any of these players?

i believe martin kelly would be a cracking signing! a right back and centre back, and def second choice behind glen johnson..

hes very good from what ive seen. too ... 6ft 3 also, but has good feet and is strong... this would def be a player that would offer quality at the back... id be over the moon!

doesnt seem like a RB to me, can't see him delivering a decent cross, or overlapping the RW with great effect

of the 4, I would rather take Boyata, sit him in the middle with Turner, Kev on the right, Taylor on the left

I think he would cost far too much, nearing £10million maybe more, and i think he's very overrated anyway, but that's just my opinion

Boyata would be a superb signing for us. He's got bags of potential and can play cb and rb. He's a wall when he's confident. Did well at Bolton when he played.

i think if you look only at what City Gent actually posted, which i've done tonight, you'll see that he actually never mislead us with his "clues".

Don't think it would be Kelly he's too good for us IMO, better defender than Glen Johnson. Think it will be Boyata, played 14 games for Bolton would benefit him to play much more games at us and enjoy a good Championship season

If I were to go for a defender at Arsenal I would personally go for Ignasi Miguel. Very classy young defender who would certainly not just hoof the ball long all the time. Its very important these days to have defender who can play their way out from the back, hate to say it but Swansea have been a very good example of that.

Yeah i agree with this!

We won't get Kelly; quality player and certainly in Liverpool's plans. I'm not sure on Shotton, but either Boyata or Bartley would be great.

I'd love to see Dekkel Keinan back in the fold.

Kyle Bartley (Arsenal) - If it says "Young and quite a lot of top flight football behind him." it wouldn't be him as he has never played for Arsenal in the league or cup.
Martin Kelly (Liverpool) - Could be him, he's played 47 first team games for Liverpool and is 22.
Dedrick Boyata (Man City) - Could be him as he's played 24 first team games for Man City and 17 for Bolton last season and he's 21.
Ryan Shotton (Stoke) - 44 first team apps for Stoke and is 23.

I seen this defender in his car pulling of at lecwith, number plate gave it away.... I think it would be a really good addition, defo here for the first team i would say...
