UNITE AS ONE FOR THE NEW SEASON
Posted on: Wed 25 Jul 2012
The opening fixture of Cardiff City's 2012/13 senior squad pre-season comes this Saturday, with an away trip to Forest Green Rovers on Malky Mackay's agenda prior to visiting Cheltenham Town next Tuesday.
Following gruelling double daily sessions from their Swiss training camp, the squad are now working from their Vale headquarters and are set to take in four friendly games on the road ahead of hosting Newcastle United at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday August 10th.
The opening run-out at Forest Green Rovers this weekend offers Cardiff City fans a first opportunity to see our newest recruits in action as the team takes shape. Jordon Mutch and Joe Lewis will be amongst the City squad present at the New Lawn, while joining them in the new Cardiff City away kit could be Slovenian striker Etien Velikonja - a matter set to be decided following the successful completion of his medical on Thursday in South Wales.
With our Championship campaign drawing ever closer, and in light of the changes at Cardiff City Football Club this summer, this is a time in which we would urge all fans to unite in supporting their local team. Our collective focus should remain on efforts to see Cardiff City succeed on the field of play, a task greatly aided by our long term valued and dedicated supporters every match-day.
The club firmly believes it is now time to draw a line under the recent publicised changes and hope that all fans will put aside their grievances and allow the football on the field to be the main talking point, thereby avoiding a detrimental effect on our collective aims and goals.
Over recent years we have strived to create an exciting match atmosphere for all supporters to enjoy, a process that has seen attendances, season ticket numbers and increasing families attend home games. It is our duty to all supporters to ensure that this continues, maintaining Cardiff City Stadium's status as a vibrant and safe sporting environment, hosting top class football matches.
Looking forward we remain committed to an open dialogue with Cardiff City fans next season. Club staff will be working through the recent fan survey in coming weeks and will start the feedback and focus groups as we look to further enhance the match-day experience in line with supporter views.
All at Cardiff City Football Club are thankful for the fantastic support for our club throughout our community and look forward with interest to the start of the forthcoming season.

Reading the article, the club wish to draw a line under the publicised changes, how convienient. The changes have pitted fan against fan and these divisions are quite deep and have the potential to last a very long time but hey, the club drawing a line under the issue should solve everything.

We've all had the debate.....why can't we agree to disagree and support the club we love?
Whether you are red, blue or indifferent, please, please move on and remember it's Cardiff City FC we support
Not the current owners, not the colour of strip we play in, but the guys on the pitch trying to make it happen.....for US!

The divisions are not at deep as some wish to keep banging on about, the vast majority just want to support the team and understand that whilst the rebranding is not ideal are inteligent to realise that without the Malaysian owners money the club would have gone into. I know to some that is more preferable to the changes and to those people I would question that they are true fans at all.

Ouch. You know me so well don't you.

The club could draw a line under it by saying that we will change back to blue the season after this one.

Oh they brushed what happened last night under the carpet !! Surprise surprise. To me they endorsed what happened as its a Asian way. The Malaysians have used some of our fans like puppets to get what they want

But that would require Tan to have a shred of decency and admit that he made the wrong call. He would rather tuff it out and keep the fans divided hoping that the protests will go away.

Bloody grow up and move on, it's people like you that are causing this rift.
They as the owners should be left alone to manage the club, without interference from fans, can't have the tail wagging the dog, or the lunatics running the asylum now can we?

At least we know they will be wearing blue this saturday.

I certainly hope you're not insinuating that the Malaysians ORDERED those idiots to do what they allegedly did?

You could all start supporting the club, let the players now do what they do.
Its red shirts for home games this season, next season who knows?
But the people who put the money in have made a business decision.
I hate going to red from blue but i have not got 100 million to put in our club, so although i make a point about being a BLUEBIRD i also respect those decisions made by those that do invest obscene amount of money in a club i want to see succeed.
Can i suggest if you really can not stomach a red shirt then you can always go white with one neighbouring side or Blue with Rovers accross the Severn.
In all honesty all this childish bickering and pro red , pro blue crap is doing more to ruin the club and chances of our team making the premiership than if the club had got a pink strip with yellow spots.
Its still Cardiff City, just wear your blue shirt if you do not agree with the colour change, don't buy a red shirt, fine !!!
But please if you give all this crap now and can not support CCFC just because they wear red shirts, please dont come back when they are in Premiership. Take your childish disruptive and destructive behaviour and go support some one else.
As for pro reds, leave them get on with it, Let the KCB have their meetings, and let them walk away, the further away the better. Don't get involved. Let them go and collect £100million + and come and buy the club so they can choose a colour.
If they all donate their wages for next ten years they still we be short by a long straw.
Cardiff City have evolved before and this is just another chapter, would i like to see us return to blue in the future, Yes.
Will it happen, who knows!!!
I have my new blue shirt as have my kids, i can not afford a new red one so will wear blue as a season ticket holder this season. Anyone that does not like the change could do this too.
Our team are evolving and could really challenge first place, our fans could ruin it.
Ps the jacks must be pissing them selves laughing at us.

Draw a line under the changes they say ?NEVER in a million years I say give us are blue and are badge back.

Oh they brushed what happened last night under the carpet !! Surprise surprise. To me they endorsed what happened as its a Asian way. The Malaysians have used some of our fans like puppets to get what they want
