CARS AT CCS TODAY

Wed Jul 25, 2012 5:20 pm

There are 1100 cars parked at our stadium today for the women's football match at the Millennium Stadium.

£10 per car to park for the day, which is shared between the club and council, park and ride being operated.

Decent business.

Is this why we've delayed so much on the kimbo signing, raising cash by renting out the car park?

I think its quite sad to be honest.

So the Club and Council get £5,500 each.

Cosmic.

Pure greed if you ask me. Should have been free or a nominal fee given
to a charity.

Just my opinion.. :ayatollah:

When I used the park & ride a couple of Christmas' ago I was charged £6 (for 2 people) and thought it was great value. I'm sure the park & ride is a business in it's own right so it reacts to market forces and like any other business and it has to make the most of any oppotunities which comes it's way.

I understand where you are coming from but I'm pretty sure a Football Club who's majority shareholder is a Billionaire and a local council who are, I would guess, already cashing in on the Olympics don't really need 5 and a half grand each to charge
some family's to park their car so they can go and watch a womens football game in a once in a lifetime Olympics.

No it is 10 nicker a car but just while the Olympics are on, it will then revert back to 3 nicker. I'll be driving one of the deckers tomorrow for 12 hours on overtime..happy days. :D It used to be 6 nicker a couple of years ago when it first started.

That £5,500 each is just for tonights game. Obviously its not the only game and similarly there will be other games with more interest. If the facility is there, why not make an earner out of it? I'd imagine, based on the eleven games scheduled there and using this figure as an average, the £60,500 raised from this will go some way to covering non playing staff wages and/or young players. After all its not just the main squad who need paying. Good opportunity well taken in my book. :D

Wow!! Incredible news  Perhaps you could do this for the other matches held at the Millennium too. That way you can pay for another vending machine on the 2nd floor and one that sells cappucino.

Great news!! :ayatollah:
