Vincent Tan's Facebook Shares

I'm surprised not more is been made of this.

I don't know how many billions Vincent Tan has, but it strikes me as an unlikely coincidence that he announced his decision to put £100 million (or is it £60 million?) into the club at around about the same time he was due to receive £90 million's worth of facebook shares.

As has been reported elsewhere, unlike many of facebook's employees who sold their shares as soon as they went on sell, instantly becoming millionaires, Tan has still not sold his shares.

At the share's current value, his shares will now be worth somewhere between £60-£65 million - ie. he has already lost at least £20 million, just by hanging on to the shares.

Anyone wondering why he is yet to make any of the visible payments that were promised might want to consider that it's because a lot of the money might be tied up in his shares.

Along with a lot of other things, I am starting to wonder if the value of facebook's shares is going to start increasing rapidly if we are going to see the debts etc. cleared.

I don't quite understand your thinking TBH. VT is pumping £1m p/m into CCFC (& has already put in £40m) and has also provided MM with a healthy transfer budget so why his he realiant on his Facebook shares for funding?

Debts to stadium contractors have been cleared all be it by loans from VT. PMG will be paid up in 18 months and an offer is in place for Langston to settle (although that might run for another couple of months)

Eventually the VT debt (which should be £100m) after the stadium is expanded and trainning ground built will be converted into equity.

None of this is linked to VT's facebook shares.

Hr is worth 740milliom. Since this was published his value of shares in Facebook and in the beraja group have gone down so the figure is a lot less than that now.not to mention the money he's chucking into the abyss with us.

The plug will be pulled soon. Of that I have no doubt.

At this rate, there'll be nothing left of the shares which originally were worth about £90 million. About time he sold them? Maybe wait till they go back up to $30 a share? Or get out now before they really completely nosedive?
