Newport v Bristol rovers

Tue Jul 24, 2012 8:33 pm

I'm down there watching the game because my mate plays for rovers and got us free tickets, Newport are the better team, Bristol are pretty poor tbh, but the player who's impressed me a lot is a player from Caerphilly I used to play against David pipe. He used to play for Coventry few years ago and sure he had a welsh cap aswell, but I couldn't believe the size of him.. Huge he is  he hasn't long came out of prison for glassing somebody, but pipe impressed me a lot today! Newport lead 2-0 in the last few minutes!

124 the announcer said, which I was disappointed in, thought they would've brought a big crowd

Cheers, Valleybluebird :ayatollah: Last time they played us, Carling Cup 2009, they brought 1,400 over. Fond memories of away games at Eastville. Those were the days :ayatollah:

What larks!
Back to 2009 I think we had the satisfaction of doing a Bristol double (City and Rovers)within a couple of weeks.

C. Rombie-coat :ayatollah: Think it was a couple of days, actually. Same week? Have to check in the morning. Ali Yassine makes the point in his book that for City fans of a certain age :old: , Bristol City remain our great rivals. True in my case. Always had a soft spot for the Gas, though.

You are right. Yes they are.
No soft spot for gas though. Wurzels all.
I also think you are right re the Bristol double. Must have been City on the Sat/Sun and Rovers Tues/Weds.
I really enjoyed that.
