QPR vice-chairman Amit Bhatia has revealed his club are weighing up a move for Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy.

New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said earlier this month that he "would love" Bellamy to stay with the Reds.

But it seems the Hoops are ready to test Liverpool's resolve - and hand Bellamy the chance to reunite with Mark Hughes, who he has worked with for Wales, Blackburn and Manchester City.

"Mark has a lot of names on his list, and I think for many of the players we will have competition from other clubs," Bhatia told Sky Sports News. "He's been a fan of Craig Bellamy for the last few years. Many names have been talked about."

Bellamy is currently with Stuart Pearce's Team GB side ahead of the Olympic Games.

We lost out to Liverpool as we promised Bells we would come after him and we never.
Whats on our side this time is, Bells family are demanding him home. :ayatollah:

I hope so. This team is made for him.

I just won't get too confident until the ink is dry - and even then may give it a few days just to be sure! :ayatollah:

QPR vice-chairman Amit Bhatia has confirmed that Craig Bellamy is on the club's shopping list as they plot their next transfer move.

Bellamy is currently preparing to represent Team GB at the Olympic Games, but speculation has continued to mount over where he will be plying his trade for the upcoming season.

Brendan Rodgers has expressed a desire to keep the Welshman at Anfield, while Cardiff are thought to be interested in their former player.

Bhatia has confirmed the Hoops are also keen, telling Sky Sports News: "Mark (Hughes) likes to have a long list of players so we'll see what happens.

"We've been a fan of Craig Bellamy for the last few years.

"His is definitely a name that has been mentioned but he's not the only name that we have discussed for that position so we have a few options.

"Mark has loads of names on his list and many of the players we want are wanted by other clubs.

He added: "Whoever Mark settles on, we will do our best to support him."

This is why it makes sense for Craig to agree terms with a club now although undertsand if he gets inured then get out clause with Liverpool

Why would a player ask a club to 'withdraw' a bid? :?

You just make it clear to your agent immediately you are not interested, that message gets passed to the club concerned & the interest is dropped. Sounds like a load of old pony to me mate.

If we sign him we've got ourselves a good forward man, if you sign him you've got a 33 year old passed his sell by date coming home cos his Mrs told him to :D
