who have we found it difficult to sign....Malky didnt want to pay those wages for just a squad player and said he'd rather spend it elseswhere.....im quite relieved he's not like DJ spending insane wages on guff players.

Totally agree.

We could have sealed the deal by paying higher wages than we budgeted for. We didn't do that, sensibly in my opinion as Keogh is not a player who will solely drive the team to promotion. So move on to the next target.

I rather like the happy clappers reference, prefer it to my Malky's groupies, will use it from now on............i have to hand it to the happy clappers, when their hero is under attack they will react very quickly and in force, and will use all the verbal abuse words that they can spell

People expect we can get anyone with the money but we need to use it WISELY. Wages can be used for someone whos better and will challenge.. Keogh didnt seem like a player ready to challenge.
We need players like Joe Lewis.. Joe Lewis is going to be pushing Marshall all the way and is ready to go even though Marshall leads the shirt. :ayatollah:

personally i'm glad we didn't sign keogh it's not i don't rate him but i didn't want us to pay over the odds and i don't think a defender is our priority, but reason i i think we fail in signing some targets is we haven't got a football man running the club, say what you like about the likes of ridsdale, hammam , bates and sullivan they may be crooks but they know football and can get a deal done, gethin jenkins and now whitley ain't got a clue

Dont think hes a hungry player just someone who can get in the team.. I understand he wants to play but I prefer players who are going to challenge and be competition! :ayatollah:

i note there were no premier clubs interested in Keogh which tells me that they dont consider him as premiership potential.
in that case if we are after premiership football next season we would be trying to offload him if promoted. And just for clarity at no time did coventry accept a bid from us for Keogh.

Jordon Mutch was a nightmare.. took forever eh?

kim Bo? a matter of days really, apart from the International clearance that even
big spending Leicester could not have got around

Velikonja... may not be well known. But one second nobody has heard of him, next
second he's here.

Joe Lewis... very much sought after young keeper. BANG! in like a flash. Ipswich
of all teams left shell-shocked cos they'd been after him for ages

Ah you must mean Keogh???... For all anyone knows, Malky made his bid and just walked
away when Coventry started f*cking about.

dont get me started on last season...

Conway, Cowie, Miller, Earnshaw, Mason, Kiss, Gunnarsson, Taylor, Turner....

Unless you mean Noone, who was in the bag until the Brighton chairman stepped in
personally and over-ruled his manager.

Or Sordell perhaps? Hours away from a quick, quiet signing... until Bolton gazzumped us!
I'm sure Malky never rang Bolton to see if they were interested in signing him??

Funny you say that. I'm pretty sure that Owen Coyle phoned Malky up to ask him what he thought of Sordell and whether he thought he was good enough for the prem. Obviously Malky told him he wasn;t ready to Coyle wasn't going to pursue the interest. It's only when the agent bandied the name around that Coyle went in for him because he must have thought Malky was lying to him to make sure he didn't gazump us. Although considering how little he played at Bolton perhaps Malky was simply telling him the truth?

Lets walk before we can run yeah.

There were no prem clubs in for the likes of player West Ham, Reading and Southampton signed last year.

Adam Le Fondre, Jas Roberts, Billy Sharp, Vaz Te,etc etc etc. Didnt do bad eh.
