f*cking stupid twats no where near that ,but ive heard rogers can bid for any scummer as long as he offers 8m or more.

Re: £15 million for Joe Allen?

Well hes better than Jordan Henderson so I dont see much wrong in that valuation consdering they dont need to sell.

They are in the Premier League now and as of last season Allen is a proven young Premier League midfielder, they can command these sort of fees.

Re: £15 million for Joe Allen?

Thu Jul 19, 2012 10:35 am

It's a no lose situation though , we know Liverpool are stupid enough to pay it but if not we keep a player that is coming on massively every season , happy days
A player is worth what anyone is prepared to pay at the end of the day

Re: £15 million for Joe Allen?

he is good but £15m never, £5-£6 maybe ?

Re: £15 million for Joe Allen?

Think thats about right, thats whats he is worth to swansea. he is the same level as henderson so liverpool have set the bar with is price.

FFS kid, the pretence is ridiculous. Is it that embarrassing to be a supporter of Swansea City ? Man up.

The Jacks that offer educated argument never get shouted down, admit it and get on.

Joe Allen is a good neat player who suits your style extremely well, so far has never shined for Wales though. If you are struggling by Christmas and an offer for £8~10 million came in Huw would bite their fingers off.

Re: £15 million for Joe Allen?

What part of don't need to sell don't you understand

He's 22 and got over 3 years left on his contract

He's a premier league player and will represent GB at the Olympics

He's a Welsh International.

He's improving season after season.

We don't need the money, we'll put whatever price tag we want on him.

If we get paid it ....BONUS

If we keep hold of him again ...BONUS

Win/Win i'm afraid.

Re: £15 million for Joe Allen?

He is a great player and will get better IMHO but I don't think he is currently worth £15 mil apart from to Swansea of course. I quite like Joe Allen and the way he plays but I wouldn't pay that price for him at this time.

There are many things we could disagree on, but your chairman and your business model is exemplary. I am not going to delve into history.

Any player is only worth what someone else is willing to pay....15 million quid quotes fills a few column inches in the press.

Better than Henderson? Hmmmm...nah, don't think so. Still a good prospect and one that Swansea could build a team around in a few years.

There are no argments, just views. Also there are no anti Cardiff and pro Swansea opinions, there are just realistic ones. I say it how it is.

Whittingham did fail in the Prem, thats why he plays in the Champ. Allen did succeed in the Prem and thats why swansea can command such a fee.

My view really isnt left field, although may be difficult to swallow for one of our one eyed anti Swansea fans, unfortnately its the truth.

I think 15m for Allen is highly inflated but Liverpool are idiots so they will pay it, we sold Ramsey for peanuts because we were desperate for the money.

Re: £15 million for Joe Allen?

Thu Jul 19, 2012 12:36 pm

My honest opinion.
When you take into account all of Allen's factors, such as 3 years left on his contract, 22 years old, Welsh international, Olympic team member, progression every year. It does make sense to put a pretty high price tag on him.
But £15m is more for players who are Champions League quality. And when you think Van Persie has been valued at £20m there is definitely something wrong having Allen close to him in terms of value.

So I would say he's worth around £7-9m. However like someone said, if they are struggling by Christmas then they will gladly reduce the asking price to cash in ready for the transfer window

Van Persie has 10 months left on his contract.

Liverpool clearly see him as a Champions League quality player as their aim is always top 4.

Hasn't any one heard of they don't want to sell him so put an un realistic price tag on him as to scare other teams off. All teams do it and that lot west of us are no different .
