Whittingham

Whittingham will leave the club before the end of this month providing fulham meet the clubs £5m valuation with a substantial fee upfront from what I have been told around 80% upfront would seal the deal

I myself could see this happening as with Mitch Gunnar, cowrie mcphail, kiss, ralls all able to play central we could offload someone and still be strong in that position plus gain funds for other areas where we desperately need reinforcements ie wingers!

£5m for whitts is a good deal, 28 yrs old not a massive amount left in his locker, I would like him to stay for one more push for promotion but if Gunnar and Mutch/cowie can form a partnership in centre it could be better than whitts, for me whitts is a good player but he's not a centre mid unless ur using him as a free role player playing in front of your centres and supporting attack cos he doesn't have the qualities to defend and we still get broken through the middle far too easy hence why we still concede poor goals as pressure constantly on the defence

Why would anyone in their right mind pay £5m for a 28 year old midfielder who is completely unproven at the top level?

Not having a pop here but it just seems completely unrealistic.

Can't see it happening.

I would take 5m up front as a minimum, although the money will clear most if not all the debt to Ranson not for players. Norwich City are also still interested (They were last season) and Whitts is happy to discuss with either club if an offer is accepted but he is not desperate to leave! :ayatollah:

Re: Whittingham

Different stories coming out about Whitts.
Hope he stays though. If the club are saying he's not for sale then he's not for sale :ayatollah:

But money talks and five million quid is a lotta money

That made me laugh. Your saying because we got all them players that Whittingham is going to fall down the pecking order

Re: Whittingham

No just saying that unless we play a 5 man midfield then Whittingham isn't effective enough cos he's weak defensively hitch leaves us vulnerable in centre mid, if we play 5 then great Mutch Gunnar and whitts free role but we will not go up top 2 with whitts in a 4 man midfield as we are constantly exposed at the back, pure Facts based on all last season games last season, I of course want him to stay as he is a top player at this level just think he offers more in a 5 man midfield

Think Whitts improved better on the defensive side. :ayatollah:

So if City never sell Whitts or 1 day let him go for free then does Ray Ranson still get all his money back ??

As I've said all along TopCat, he is staying. I was away with him this summer when the Fulham interest was rife, his response 'I've just signed a contract mate'
