Is this true??

Tue Jul 17, 2012 8:03 pm

I apologise if this has been outed already on th board but I want to find this out as it will make my mind up on this player.

I have heard today that after the carling cup final Anthony Gerard went in to the liverpool dressing room with the Liverpool players and celebrated ? I am also told that Gez was asked to come out of the changing room by malky and he refused to do so.

This pissed malky off so much that Gez did not return home on Cardiff city coach but went back home with the Liverpool squad to his home town ?

I am not saying this is true by any strech but would like to know if there is any real story behind this ??? :ayatollah:

no way this is true

you could see Gerrard was as gutted as anyone when he missed that pen, he wasnt faking!

i don't rate him in the slightest as a player, but whoever's told you this has just made it up out of malice!

I've heard it but that doesn't mean it's true. I've just read it as rumour.

If it is true then I am glad that he is not on the pre season and could this be what Carl was talking about a player that malky had fallen out with and will not play for Cardiff city again ?

Wathced it again the other night and still can't believe we lost - felt the same after Pompey and not sure I'll ever fully get over seeing us lose both major domestic cup finals. Mind you, I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd see us get to wembley in the first place, never mind four times in five years.

Don't believe that rumour for a second. I doubt very much kenny dagliesh would have let him stay in the liverpool changing room after seeing malky ask him to get back to the cardiff changing room for a start. Can you imagine the trouble that would have coursed between the players and him if that really did happen? Not to mention I think bellamy would have had a word in his ear to fukoff back to his own dressing room and show some respect.

Re: Is this true??

I was in Liverpool last March and got talking to a fella and when I told him I supported Cardiff he said I know one of your players, Anthony Gerrard. He told me he was a good friend of the family and seemed fairly genuine. He said that Anthony had had a big falling out with Malky and from what he had heard he would never play for the club again. So what ever happend it was either pretty serious or Malky and Gerrad just didn't hit it off and there was only going to be one winner in that scenario. I too have heard this rumour but it does sound unlikely, I thought he was an Everton supporter anyway!

If there were any truth in this surely MM would have thrown him out of the club and fired him.
I don't know what is detailed within a footballers employee contract but I would not have thought being able to celibrate with the opposition team would be allowed.

I am no fan of AG football ability but he always looked to give his all for us so I am not going to be too quick to judge him.

Biggest load of bollocks iv ever heard.

Re: Is this true??

dont believe the rumour for a second
same season before when someone circulated the rumour of tom heaton refusing to play because of nerves
i was sat with gerrard at the end of season awards and he admitted he enjoys being a wind up on twitter but city fans accusing him of celebrating with liverpool truly hurt him

Re: Is this true??

More importantly was Bellamy really smiling when Ben Turner scored the equaliser?

He should never have taken a pen, ability wise

Re: Is this true??

Malky did fall out with a player?? And he's now departed

That's what happens when you don't do as your told

Re: Is this true??

I heard about this on the train home after the final. Someone after the game apparently seen Malky and gerrard outside the changing rooms agruing then gerrard went back in the liverpool changing rooms. Gerrard didnt get on the liverpool team bus but went out with the liverpool team in the nite and was the person that was celbrating the most

That was what i was told

Tbh i think gerrard missed the pen on purpose just my opinion. u dont put a df who has liverpool blood in him to take the vital pen

Looking at that pic again brought it all back. Never felt the lads got the credit they deserves for that tbh.

Such a great atmosphere that day, and one of the best (or at least most resilient) performances I've seen.

I love looking back on the day.
Just to think millions of people was watching this game and people always been Chelsea vs Liverpool etc then it was Cardiff City vs Liverpool. I read the programme still and can't beleive it.
Either way I clapped the players when they clapped us off.. Gerrard was extremley gutted and he couldn't even bring hiself to clap us off he was that gutted. Ffs Im not his biggest fan but Miller missed a penalty? Nothing wrong there.
