" Been thinking "

Been thinking under the present board of Cardiff City.

January 2011 and January 2012 we failed totally in the transfer market of buying any quality players.

Malky said in the last meeting I went to, only Reading/Southampton and Westham spent properly in January 2012 and guess what they all went up.

Malky insists the January market is not for him, fair enough.

And by the way I am a big Malky fan.

So surely we will have to bring in soon at least 7-9 players if we are to go up in the top 2 this season ? Malky stated Tan expects us to with his £100mill investment.

Personally I believe Tan should of delivered first before he started any of this stripping our club of its identity, any opinions on that ? and before u ask no I still would not have accepted it but at least I would of known the man delivers what he preaches.

Looking at some of their deals...West Ham signed Vaz Te, Southampton signed Billy Sharp and Reading signed Jason Roberts.

They all played a huge part in pushing them over the line.

I 100% back Malky but not buying 2 or 3 first team players in Jan cost us as the lads were tiring quickly.

You may still.Does anybody tell you how and when you spend your money.I still maintain that if it was'nt for the colour change people would'nt be saying boo to a goose.I think all the financial experts on here telling Tan how he should conduct his affairs is a bit like telling your father how to f**k.

Your right we wouldnt be saying so much, but now that Tan has stripped our club of our identity, yes we want answers, yes we want action, yes we want to know the ins and outs, why because we love Cardiff City.

I am one of Tans biggest fans on how he makes his money and have utmost respect for him on how he has achieved it and the way he goes about it. But my opinion of him regarding my club, yes I had respect for him at first, but the day he stripped my club of our identity was the day he lost any respect from me, but what does it matter I'm just one fan and he has thousands to replace me.

langston should have been paid off first before any announcement was made.
people would still be unhappy about the rebrand but a lot of people would have been happy that the langston issue had gone away.
the situation has been handled very poorly in my opinion

I still don't believe we have had our identity taken away from us.

When we turn up at away grounds the opposition will still know we are Cardiff City FC. (THEY WILL HEAR US!) :ayatollah:

Scores coming through live on Sky Sports will show Cardiff City FC! ;)

League tables will show we are Cardiff City FC!

At home we will shout Bluebirds louder and prouder.

Lost our identity? Pah! :D

Don't let it get to you.

Tan has delivered nothing yet, except to vandalise the club. He talks a good game, but in reality Tan is just a money lender. 7% interest, is it? Why should we trust him any more than any other club chairman? Everbody knows that the 're-branding' is causing nothing but trouble. And before any financial expert, or marketing expert, jumps in to defend Tan, I for one simply do not believe that CCFC would have vanished but for Tan. We would have pulled through, and would not be the laughing stock of football, as we are now. We are no nearer to the Premier League than when Dave Jones was here. The Malaysians are not investing, just lending, and losing £1m a month  What businessmen.

It is pretty dam certain that the 2010 HMRC winding up order against CCFC would have gone through without Tan's £6m investment :?

None of us are real financial or marketing experts but common sense tells you that if you face a court winding up order that you can't pay, then generally you are wound up.

To lend money to the black hole that is CCFC just to get 7% would be folly indeed because 7% is nothing if you havent got a chance of getting your capital back.Even your local housing eatate money lender knows this. The only chance Cardiff have got is if Tan pays langstone any converts the debt into equity, then with a healthy balance sheet and success on the pitch he's got more chance of getting back what he's already spent-which is quite alot in case you had'nt noticed.

A bit lost on this one Annis :? Is it a thread about player recruitment or the rebranding?

Any way on recruitment then in fairness the blame has to lay with Malky. MM has always claimed he has been backed by the board (even in January) so VT has apparently done his job in making funds avaiable, it is then up to the manager to do the rest.

As for the rebranding lets be fair there isn't a 'proper' way of doing it. Even if the club had signed several quality players, settled with Langston, paid off PMG and had already built a trainning ground, changing from Blue to Red would still have thrown up disgruntled fans.

Re: " Been thinking "

Mon Jul 09, 2012 3:12 pm

All the talk of signings? Then a statement about using academy players??

What the **** is going on at CCFC

Will this be another season where we all pin or hopes on whittingham to turn up?
or Kenny Miller to realise he is our striker and not midfield playmaker?

Im all for fist pumps and rallying the troops but the pressure is on malky big-time,
Wasn't very impressed with team(shape, formation)during 2nd half of season

Usually chomping at the bit for the season to start....but at present couldnt give a shit!!!
but when the money men have long gone cos they made nothing from CCFC like the song say's?

I'LL BE THERE

Re: " Been thinking "

Mon Jul 09, 2012 3:14 pm

It's all been done wrong for me. Tan clearly has the money to spend, so why not give Malky a substantial ammount to spend on players, which would give us a huge chance of top two. We dont need a new training ground YET, we dont need a bigger stadium capacity YET, we need PLAYERS.

Once we're promoted and established as a prem club, then he would have more authority to do as he likes. As Annis said I still wouldn't have accepted it, but Tan would have delivered I suppose it gives him more right.

To just strip the club of our identity without having delivered is not acceptable.

Re: " Been thinking "

Mon Jul 09, 2012 3:18 pm

Malky's right in saying players are overpriced in January.

But as you said, it can mean the difference between promotion and no promotion :ayatollah:

Excellent post.

The 7% interest is often used as a stick to beat VT with but in reality it is only a notional amount and will never be paid. Personally I think the only reason he charges 7% is in case we did go tits up.

That would mean a bigger shortfall on what VT has secured (& can be paid) and what would be leftover after all the assets were liquidated (it would give him greater influence on any future CVA)

Malky has said publically that he is extremly happy with the playing budget VT (& the board) have given him this season???

So it is hard to understand where you are coming from?

Re: " Been thinking "

Mon Jul 09, 2012 4:36 pm

Back to the original question.....I agree 100%.

If the Langston deal had been settled a month ago,

then a couple of marquee signings.....then trot someone like Bellamy out in the new top.

It would have still caused a stir but I think the overwhelming majority would have been patient and willing to give this a shot, after all Tan settled the debt and gave Malky the obvious war chest.

It was just a PR debacle from day one.

Re: " Been thinking "

Mon Jul 09, 2012 4:47 pm

Did Malky really say the January market was not for him?

Or did he say that he is not one to panic buy players?

fairplay so selfish of tan for charging 7% interest into a club which is basically skint
how can anyone judge him for that!, dont care what anyone says a business man will never go into a club without trying to recoup or make more money from the business, football is a business, its harsh gto see it happen to the club we love but he came into a buisness nothing more nothing less.

Re: " Been thinking "

Mon Jul 09, 2012 5:16 pm

Tan is a thief nothing more nothing less run the business make changes but what he has done is way over the top and to radical and what he has done is criminal and all the fans are divided great in it.

Re: " Been thinking "

Mon Jul 09, 2012 5:43 pm

Why on earth would Tan charge no interest on his loans when everyone else is charging interest. As far as I can see he just matched the other biggest creditor which is Langston who also charge 7% irrespective if that's paid or not.
If Tan charged no interest then his debt to the club would stay static while Langstons increased, now that would be stupid of him?

January is a bad time to buy, if you get it right the it's a great boost if you get it wrong it's usually expensive drain on the club for many years.

Re: " Been thinking "

Mon Jul 09, 2012 5:51 pm

So it was ok for Sam to charge 7% interest but not VT?
