Oh come on, his agent would have been putting his name around all the prem clubs first anyway.
Even if City did agree a fee his agents next step would have been to let every prem manager know about it. If a club like VIlla want him then they will get him over us.

Weve been linked since January ffs. Had we been quick out of the blocks the deal could have been done before Villa were even interested as they didnt have a manager.

Yes because signing from league one to a team who have consistently been knocking on the door to the premiership is so ludicrous I must be from another planet

How do you know that no other club in the premier league wasn't interested? Just because it wasnt reported in the media doesn't mean teams were not talking to his agent. Wouldnt Bredan Rogers take a punt on a lower league player? Even United have signed a player from the lower leagues.

Dont see this as one that got away as 2Blue says he probably wasn't in a rush to sign for a championship side as he could wait for a prem team to come in for him. If not then he would be safe in the knowledge there would be championship club to sign for.
