Not for 1st offence, ive been to prison for something I didnt do because I pandered to the way the system works, but repeat offenders cannot be rehabilitated.

Reversing most of their cuts would produce more jobs aswell.

I dont know. Maybe 2 serious offences or 6/7 visits to prison but there is no mileage in pretending we can rehabilitate those that are beyond help.

would wipe out the youth crime at the same time and give them hope in life as they get to learn a trade. I know in places I've lived before you could get out of National Service 'if' you went onto University but after your studies you would then do National Service before going into civvy life.

National service would massively increase the military budget. I don't want people forced to be there in my armed forces. Volunteers are hard enough work sometimes.

National service sounds like a good idea until you look at the wasters that'd be put forward.

I'm sure our over streched and underfunded armed forces have enough on their plates without having to babysit a load of chavs and crack heads.

It'd be a non-starter anyway because national service is probably an infringement of their human rights like everything else is these days.

NOW you have touched on another 'bug-bear' I cannot understand why we have a government, a House of Lords, lawmakers and judges who compile Laws of the land and administer them and 'so called' justice to THEN allow the European Court of Human Rights to overturn almost every decision (ie. Abu Hamza-the H(F)ooked cleric)..........who has manipulated this SYSTEM and at WHAT cost

After the current cuts to the army have taken place we will cease to have enough troops to be be able to call it a army in official terms dictated by the number of troops it will be a defence force only.
