While Ali is head and shoulders above most announcers I've heard. I feel that he' has gone a bit corporate of late and has lost the cutting edge,(more Cut the Crap rater than Sandinista for older readers.)

I was a PA announcer for about 15 years, thankless job and everyone has an opinion.

When announcing to that many fans at once, there are going to be at least some who critisize, its what people do.

Easy to be critical, harder to do the job.

By making a "survey" it only stirs stuff up.

He's waaaaaaaay better than most announcers in the Championship, Ali is one of the best if you compare him to others.

Ali is now part of the furniture down the city. I agree he has toned it down now (post sam). Anybody remember his lords prayer pure genius that was.

I like Ali, when my daughters moved to spain with my ex and her new husband, I mailed him and told him what there last game would be, think it was wolves, midweek ,anyway he gave them a nice message at half time, I didn't think he would even mention them, never mind give them a message.( which was real madrid are ok but we are home.)

It's funny you say that. Think about when it was said at ninian park. I felt we were like an army when he said that!!! It was amazing in the grange end anyway!!

I know it sounds poor in the new ground but it's one of the only things that makes it feel like ninian still.
