Will the nickname 'Bluebirds' remain..?

Thu Jul 05, 2012 9:06 am

If VT is against everything blue then surely the nickname 'Bluebirds' will be next because it even states the colour and its a animal which has blue in its colouring.

Bluebird means penis in Malay so id guess its on the agenda, maybe not right away as he has already changed quite a bit and wont want to cause any more unrest.

I think next year the stadium turns red and we will be officially the dragons.

then the year after no blue away kit and no bluebird on badge.

Agree. But potential Asian fan are more important than us... otherwise we would still be blue and not have a beer mat as a badge.

To be fair to him he has just had the soul ripped out of said club.

When the club give him something to be positive about im sure he will change his post type, but until that happens then anyone is allowed to voice their negativity.

Yes I have our clubs history in writing and I also know that the club will for sure be sold on one day.
We will go back to blue. When it does it will be a massive marketing campaign.

It was only four months ago he said the club had moved backwards because they wouldn't make the pay-offs and MM should quit. He was also spouting that the Malaysians were investing basically as little money into the club as possible in order to just about keep the tax man happy and that was it.

Then when all this rebranding happened he claimed he was "right all along" (despite being wrong) and now apparently MM "only" has £5mil too spend. Guys a jack like RoathMagic basically.

Where and when has VT ever said he is against "Everything Blue" ? In relation to an actual Bluebird the bird does have a RED breast or chest with Blue wings.

The reality of this is simple Cardiff City FC has a fanbase which identifies with the nickname "Bluebirds" and that cannot be taken away overnight. In reality that identification will remain for years, possibly even a generation or longer, before new fans identify with anything else.

Cardiff City fans will continue to chant "Bluebirds" next season and for years to come and nothing will change that.

But why not provide a link to a direct statement from VT that he is "Against Everything Blue", and not just repeat the disinformation on this and other messageboards that he doesn't like the colour Blue.

I'll not be holding my breath waiting for the link.

So you dont then and making it up?

It is far more likely that the full vision of Tan will be carried out now its underway than it being reverted back to blue again.

Now that is fact.

Re: Will the nickname 'Bluebirds' remain..?

I've heard a rumour that the malaysans are going to use one of them men in black style memory erasing de neutralisers at the first home league game on us fans, so they can make us forget everything about our past to do with the bluebirds and then program the redbirds into our brains. Might be a good idea for us all to wear a pair of dark tinted sunglasses at the ccs this season just incase.

Bluebird means penis in Malay so id guess its on the agenda, maybe not right away as he has already changed quite a bit and wont want to cause any more unrest.

I think next year the stadium turns red and we will be officially the dragons.

then the year after no blue away kit and no bluebird on badge.

So our badge basically says:

Cardiff City FC
Tan & Passion
Penis

What is wrong with you??? another one of your sh*t post without any foundations to it, nicknames are a fans thing, some clubs have had two or three different nicknames, ours has been around since about 1910 and it will still be the city fans choice over the next 50-80 years unless WE want to change it, by the way how about a positive post about Cardiff City from yourself??? or are they not the real team you support??????

How many times? The nickname cannot be changed. It's a nickname and is therefore unofficial. We call them down west jack Bastards. Could Huw Jenkins change this? Of course he couldn't!

NO ONE CAN CHANGE A NICKNAME. IF WE KEEP USING IT, IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY!!!
