The.....fill the space with any old rubbish story's in the South Wales Echo,clearly demonstrates the lack of transfer news at the moment,now it could be argued that this is a good sign,and news of transfer deals are imminent,but it could also mean that Mackay has lost his way,once again in the transfer window,remember this man has previous on this issue,the case for Mackays defense trotted out by his loyal supporters,that no other clubs are doing business is becoming more irrelevant by the day,so until i see the Echo report that we have made a number of quality signings,i will hold to my view,that Mackay is inept when it comes to making ambitious signings............so my message to Mackay is a clear one,no more safety first signings,no waiting until the eve of the season before making any signings at all,and for God sake,please,please no more work horses coming to the club,now all the above might be totally irrelevant,and that the club is on the verge of announcing headline signings,and if they do i will,like i have stated many times on here,will be one of the first to write an apology to Mackay and his supporters for getting it wrong,and trust me i hope im wrong,but i have to say its all looking ominously similar to last seasons transfer windows fiasco

My dear Merlin,you have im afraid a very selective memory,you have clearly forgotten about the other transfer windows where Mackay failed to bring anyone in,and in doing so hindered,one might say scuppered our push for promotion,as for your claim that Mackay had made 10 quality signings,well my dear chap a lot of people on here would take issue with that,remember their is a big difference between a quality signing and what i call a safety first signing,quality players would be able to fit into any Championship team,of the ten players you mentioned,perhaps you will enlighten me on how many of them would currently get into the Blackburn team,the Bolton team,the Wolves team,perhaps you could name these quality players as well,lets see how many names you can come up with

I seem to remember Leicester signing MANY expensive quality players, and Norwich and Swansea spending wisely.....

For the sake of clarity you mention "Transfer Windows" plural, other than the first FL emergency transfer window last season which other window did he fail to sign players?

Also have secured 39 points in the first half of last season, the second highest total in our clubs history at the mid point stage of a 46 game league season , not having signed an emergency loan hardly hindered or scuppered our promotion chances.

I disagree....it's for all Cardiff fans no matter what level of intelligence. As long as people are not abusive..and clever people can be abusive too.

Can't believe people criticise Malky's transfer dealings, he has made no pointless signing and made quite a strong team, we don't need as many players as last year but don't act like he isn't trying.

My dear angelis49, I see your view of our managers dealings, is in the minority in this thread.
In my view, long may it continue. A pessimist will always be grumpy and only say "See, I told you so" in the end.

Nothing about barrels it's just that you made a statement I disagree with, "but it could also mean that Mackay has lost his way,once again in the transfer window,remember this man has previous on this issue" and which actually is not supported by the facts.

Forgetting the summer transfer window activity in 2011 which everyone would agree was an absolute neccessity, MM did actually sign a player in the first FL emergency transfer window. Elliot Parrish was signed on loan from Aston Villa during which time MM used him in the development team on a trial basis. This was later made a permanent transfer in the January window.

In the January window MM signed Khadeem Harris and had placed bids for Noone and Sordell, which were accepted by both clubs, only for their clubs to either sell the player to another club (Sordell) or stop the transfer at the last minute (Noone).

In the 2nd FL emergency loan window MM signed Harris Vuckic and Liam Lawrence, he also agreed the deal to sign Filip Kiss on a permanent basis this summer. You obviously feel that the work MM and his team have been doing itsn't good enough and that's fair enough as it's your opinion, but it's a subjective opinion and not in my opinion supported by the facts.

At the conculsion of last season we had won 75 points which was the 3rd highest points haul,at Championship level, for over 50 years. When you add to that reaching a League Cup Final we had a fantastic season and that was down to MM, his backroom team and the players.

I for one will be giving MM my full backing this season because to put it simply - He has previous. Previous of doing a profession job, for always showing appreciation to the fans and sending our team out to play for us the fans.

In my opinion that's more important than anyone's subjective opinion, including myself, on his dealings in the transfer market.

OK,I hearby apologise to all Sun journalists who felt personaly abused by my original posting.

I consider myself a reasonably educated individual who earns a decent wager & has very nice house/car/kids etc. if there is one thing that gets under my skin , it's a pessimist who tries to be clever when it's blatant he's far from it using the same group of words in all his drivel posts trying to be more senior than all other posters. Do yourself a favour don't metaphorically talk down to people because pardon my French it makes you look like a right c**t!
Back on topic some of malkys signings were peanuts at the time. He's fought out the best in them and their value has increased! He knows exactly the type of players required in "this" league and he got us to the playoffs with the smallest squad in the championship.

in defence of malky, we brought in lawrence and also vukic, who was called back to newcastle due to injuries... most clubs were reluctant to let anyone go and the fees teams were asking were shocking..

What manager wouldn't bring in players if he had the opportunity? The fact that MM strives to only bring in quality and players that will compliment the team spirit can only be a good thing surely?
