At the age of 21 i caught viral meningitis,i did'nt have a clue what it was or what / where i got it from.
This is the softer of the types of meningtis, but still painful (trust me ) - i came home in a wheelchair.
I like Daniel Sturridge as a footballer - if he has caught VM - I Hope he recovers from this,if so it will make him a stronger person .

What did it feel like, must've been very hard. Would you say you're stronger now after coming through it? And yeah excellent footballer already and still has a lot more potential.

Rhys - if Daniel Sturridge has VM . He will be sick, have headaches, his vision will not focus correctly and will have to be put in a ward where the only visitors he gets will have masks on.
The biggest pain will be when / if they give him what i had - a Lumber Puncture - not sure what today's medical rules are,but i was kept awake when this was performed on me.
As i posted above it does make you stronger, and at times your out look in life changes.

My close mate had this when we were in primary.
He mailed me on Facebook telling me Sturridge had what he had.
He said 'You feel like complete and utter s**t every single day and he as in hosiptal in 3 months.
Hes grown up since then and has been a top mate! It makes you stronger

Wow, and aren't one of those Lumber Punctures a big needle? Heard about those. I knew meningitis was bad but didn't know that the 'lighter' one VM, if you would call it that is still life threatening.
