SPL Clubs

Need to be careful all voting against allowing Newco Rangers into the SPL.

Not just the away fans they take to these places but cannot see the league being appealing to tv broadcasters the longer it stays a 1 horse race.

On the flip side do they really deserve to go bust and then just start again with no penalty? Probably not.

The clubs need to do the right thing. Newco can apply for membership for SFL3 and build from there. This is a chance for Scottish Football to rebuild, not pander for the sake of a few quid.

Rangers will be back in three or four years anyway so it's only a short term punishment and probably the fairest way to do it.

If it got to the point the division 3 clubs were voting against their entry that's when I think it will haver gone too far.

If they dont get tv revenue though they could go the way of rangers.

Tv wont wait 3 or 4 years

After the Setanta collapse, any club that is budgeting on TV money deserves to be shown up. It has been a major posibillty since February that Rangers could disappear, so again any club budgeting on a game or two v them with all that going on deserves anything that comes.

Sporting integrity is the term bandied about - it's about time football was about what's right and not cash. Even the SFL clubs are looking beyond the added cash bonus. If Newco appear anywhere other than SFL 3 then it will show the game up here is corrupt.

Hopefully when rangers get back into the spl they wont allow more than 200 fans to travel away to watch them cutting the revenue of those clubs :D

In an ideal world mate yes, i agree, would love all football to cut out this money cancer and go back 20 years but from a survival point of view its not practical.

Rangers will get back very soon, not much doubt about that. And when they do, don't be surprised if they take a hard line against clubs that have gone up against them. Fans will boycott certain away grounds and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the club negotiated their own TV deal and said bollocks to the rest.

I think all this could have given Rangers the perfect excuse to go all out & join the English pyramid system, albeit at the lowest level.

Long term the clubs could handle that. More hassle than they are worth at times. I'd ban the Old Firm away supports altogether and not let them on tv.

Does anyone give a shit? I certainly don't, makes no odds to me if one of, perhaps the most, odious teams in world football disappears for ever. The damage they have done to Scottish football over the years, with their "twin" in green is incalculable. Over the years I have had many, many conversations with Scots guys and the vast majority hate, perhaps too strong a word, detest both of them.

Now they've been sorted to a small extent, I would be very surprised if their "twin" club directors have their staff working overtime on the shredders
