Relegated Teams are the Teams to Beat

Tue Jul 03, 2012 7:51 am

The way things are shaping up its going to be difficult to get out of the Championship this season. All 3 of the relegated teams : Wolves, Blackburn & Bolton have decent squads and they have their payments. Blackburn have already strengthened with the addition of Leon Best and they are now likely to get Gomez. Bolton are also looking at Matt Mills. All 3 teams have quality.

In addition some of last seasons teams are going to be there or there abouts, Leicester, Brighton, Boro, Birmingham, etc. Then there are clubs which appear to be getting new financial investment: Leeds, Forest, etc. You then have the promoted clubs who could shock the Division like Southampton last year and Norwich the year before. Sheff Weds and Huddersfield have strengthened.

I think that City need to bring in another 3/4 quality signings (striker/wingers) or things will be very difficult this season and the promised land may be out of reach. Lets hope that over the next few weeks City can strengthen the squad. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

It's always a tough league to escape from.
Think your right, the three that come down will be the teams everyone else will want to beat, especially at home.
Maybe they will think they will be playing Man Utd when they play us

My top six prediction in no particular order......

Bolton
Leicester
Cardiff
Wolves
Leeds
Blackpool

Wolves have also brought in 3 decent signings including Sugardarson & Nouble and based on CURRENT squads my top 6 predictions are; Blackburn
Bolton
Wolves
Leicester
Brighton
Sheff Weds/Blackpool.

City will be there or thereabouts but those extra faces could push us near the top.

Top 10 would be a good performance by Malky this year considering the way were playing second half of last season.

Ignoring the promoted teams would be a mistake, as the past two seasons have shown. I think personally that Sheffield Wednesday could have a big season ahead.
