Sky tweet:

Sky Sources: Nuno Gomes to have medical at Blackburn today with view to signing two-year deal #SSN

No wonder our promotion odds are slipping

The guy is 35, 36 next month. This isn't a great signing. He was a big name 10 years ago

Big wages though :?

They may do well on the pitch but off the pitch there may be problems. They may not even do well on the pitch, they may turn out like Leicester :ayatollah:

He's actually 36 on Thursday.

Exactly. He's scored goals through the years and apparently he's as fit as butchers dog but with Rovers already signing a 35yr old Murphy and now a 36yr old Gomes, they are going to be the new Chelsea pensioners.

Huge gamble by Steve Kean, can't see him having any impact at all. Danny Murphy and Leon Best are great signings though. We could've done a lot worse than snap them two up.

Bolton are the one's I fear, already signed Keith Andrews and are set to sign Matt Mills!

I wouldn't worry too much about Blackburn if Steve Kean is still in charge. Car crash of a football club at the moment and without major changes there, league one beckons.

League 1 might be a bit over the top but I know what you mean about Steve Kean, everything he seems to touch turns to shit! Hope he gets what he deserves after stabbing Big Sam in the back!

Massive problems with the owners there as well, we got beat there 4-2 last season and the atmosphere was just bizarre. Yakubu scored all 4 of their goals yet getting booed every time he got the ball because he acknowledged Kean!

Then, at full time, half the ground had emptied so that they could all join up in one stand and protest, very surreal afternoon and I imagine it'll be worse this year. Venkys out flags everywhere you look.

Funny sky sports tweet:

@SkyBet: "Blackburn set to sign Nuno Gomes" - looks like those Venky's chaps have been playing Football Manager 2005 again.

I have a feeling he's going to do okay...

i'm willing to put my neck on the line and say he'll get 15 goals this season.

You heard it here first!
