There were hints at that but it is f*cking daft. It would make it impossible for both fans and teams

The Echo is way behind the time here because over the weekend Platini come out and stated that for the 2020 Euros onwards there will be no host country anymore.

And that's why Platini won't last long. It's a terrible decision and it will be aweful for the players and fans. An eco-warrior would soon come out and say about how the increase in plane travel between the cities would kill the environment

The only way Platini will move on is when the FIFA job is available. However my point being isd that the Echo have put this story out when the chances after Platini's comments over the weekend are now zero!!!!

He didn't say they will have it all over Europe he's just put it forward as something they're discussing.

I can't see it happening personally. Would ruin the entire tournament.

In the 70's they used to have it as a home and away knock out competition and I'm sure Wales got to the quarter finals if I'm not mistaken

Yeah they did. And barely anyone remembers it happening because no one takes any notice until the finals.

Very much like the '58 World Cup. One of the players at the time was interviewed a few years back and he said that when he got off the train in near his home in South Wales where he bumped into a friend. The friend turned around and said 'been the Cardiff shopping have you..?' and he replied 'No, just played for Wales in the World Cup!!!'. The friend just turned around and said 'oh well, have a good day.' The person interviewed was laughing about it but I think its very sad that the country never got behind that team and it makes you wonder if they won the cup at the time would it be any different

It is a shame. That could be a reason why we've never really been that successful, seems like no one's ever really got behind our national team like they do in other countries. You only have to look at current attendances to see that.

That is cause in Wales we have this Rugby culture. I love both sports but the worship for both the game and players of ruby is unbelievable

Most people of a certain age remember the notorious Wales v Yugoslavia quarter final at NP in 1976. Banned from playing internationals there afterwards, an ugly atmosphere and shall we say some very questionable refereeing decisons.
