The friend turned around and said 'been the Cardiff shopping have you..?' and he replied 'No, just played for Wales in the World Cup!!!'. The friend just turned around and said 'oh well, have a good day.' The person interviewed was laughing about it but I think its very sad that the country never got behind that team and it makes you wonder if they won the cup at the time would it be any different

It is a shame. That could be a reason why we've never really been that successful, seems like no one's ever really got behind our national team like they do in other countries. You only have to look at current attendances to see that.

That is cause in Wales we have this Rugby culture. I love both sports but the worship for both the game and players of ruby is unbelievable

Most people of a certain age remember the notorious Wales v Yugoslavia quarter final at NP in 1976. Banned from playing internationals there afterwards, an ugly atmosphere and shall we say some very questionable refereeing decisons.
