Marquee Signing?

someone explain why everyones talking about a marquee signing? i've seen loads of talk of it on here and people hinting who it is! have i missed something or are people just guessing who it is rather than they know who it is?

I'm a bit concerned to be honest, as to me a Marquee signing is someone who is at the top or near the top of their game and have been performing on the highest level.

Then people are saying its Jordan Rhodes,Jason Roberts or (cringe) Emile Heskey.
Well sorry but none of the above are or have ever been marquee names.

Whilst I'd love to see Rhodes in Cardiff shirt and Roberts would do a decent job, I wouldn't want Heskey if he was playing for free and he would donate to charity every time he scored: because he's useless lazy and he would never donate to charity

All hot air IMO, there will be some good signings including a few up and coming youngsters who want to kick on and improve their overall game, but a Marquee signing I think not.
