What's wrong with my boots?

The more the merrier. Lack of depth killed us last season. Be nice to have enough about our squad where we can give the likes of whitts a rest every so often.

2) Noone/Phillips (maybe both)
3) tall striker (someone like jason roberts)
4) another striker to back up/replace miller
5) left back (competition for taylor)
6) back up CB
7) back up RB
8) would say another ST cos we severly lacked up front last season, so depth wont hurt there!

central midfield, goalkeepers, and central defenders are pretty much fine, but might want to add a few squad players (youngsters preferably) while getting rid of the dead wood like taiwo, gerrard and naylor etc.

so imo we need at least 5/6 quality players, and then add squad players and youngsters! depth wont hurt, just makes players fight harder for their places!

We need to lose:
-Gerrard
-Earnshaw
-Keinan

Then we need:
Keogh
Chambers?
Noone
Bellamy
Target man

Our squad will be:
3 GK
4 FB
3 CB
5 Wingers

a 25 man squad would be maybe the most complete Cardiff squad ever.

I've said these players a few times Rhys, and like you said, the experience would rub off on the likes of Mason, Mutch, Harris and Gunnarsson...they all play similar positions to them.
