Yes please! Both would be quality additions, we would be crazy to up our offer for Richard Keogh when there is an even better play in Whitaker available for free! I would also like to see us try for Aluko as well.

Very good player but surely we've got enough CM's - Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Mutch, McPhail, Kiss, Ralls and don't forget the legend that is Sol Taiwo!!!

True, but we need strength and depth which we lacked last year and personally i think he is better than Mcphail, Kiss, Ralls, Not sure about Taiwo though :o

I'd take Naismith, not so sure about Whittaker, two years ago yeah but he isn't the same player now.

Why is everyone so keen on Aluko? He was available for 6 months last year and couldn't get a club.

According to the fans of Rangers on their forum, Naismith is a quality player who is injury prone. Whittaker, however is not so highly rated. I doubt if MM will be interested in either player.

I'd be shocked if uninterested, I think bigger clubs will certainly be interested in Naismith. A change of scene might kickstart Whittaker too.

Let's be honest here, the vast majority of clubs will have this thread after seeing the news of them potentially being free.

I would definitely love to take Kyle Lafferty, Sone Aluko, Maurice Edu and Steven Naismith off their hands. If I had the choice out of the 4 I would take Lafferty, he is the exact type of striker that we need. He is big, strong, good at holding the ball up, good in the air, can score goals and has a bit of pace. He would be brilliant for us.

Trouble with the SPL is that its so deceptive. The standard apart from a few teams is
lower than that of the championship. So who can hand on heart say these people can
make the 'step up'. Apart from those that have played in the English Leagues before!!

Steven Davis has also rejected the offer, he would be a great signing.. I dont rate Sone Aluko.

Steven Naismith completes move from Rangers to Everton:-

Everton have signed striker Steven Naismith after he rejected a contract transfer from the old Rangers to the new company.

The 25-year-old has moved on a free transfer and penned a four-year deal.

"We are delighted that Steven has agreed to join us," Everton boss David Moyes told the club's website.

"He will be an excellent addition to the players we already have and we look forward to him being fit and ready to play at the start of the season."

Naismith in focus
•Won young player of the year awards from SFWA in 2006 and SPFA in 2007
•Joined Rangers from Kilmarnock in August 2007 for £1.9m
•Made his Scotland debut as a substitute in 2-0 win over Faroe Islands

Moyes added: "He is an established international who can play in a number of positions. He has a flexibility we always like in our players and which will hopefully prove to be very useful for us."

Naismith began his career at Kilmarnock where he won the Scottish Football Writers' young player of the year award in 2006 and the Scottish Professional Football Association's equivalent a year later.

He switched to Rangers in August 2007 for £1.9m and scored 28 goals in 98 league appearances for the club, although his 2011/2012 season was ended in October after he suffered a cruciate knee injury.

He has 15 international caps for Scotland and will join up with the rest of his Goodison Park team-mates for pre-season training as they build up to the 2012/2013 Premier League campaign.

"It is a great honour to be joining a club of Everton's wonderful history and to have the chance to play with such a talented group of players in the world's best league in front of such a passionate group of fans," said Naismith.

"I look forward greatly to working with the manager David Moyes and all the staff at Everton and working hard to deliver on the pitch to repay their, and the chairman Mr Kenwright's, faith and belief in me."
