What a joke

Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:51 pm

Weve just signed a great player at a great price and yet i have noticed some people saying things like " i cant bear that hes holding up tht red shirt" etc . Get a grip you should be over the moon that the club is showing ambition by bringing in great young players. Everyones been complaining about lack of signings, we make one and yet people still have to talk and moan about the same old crap .Can we just forget about tht stupid red blue debate and just have peace and be happy tht we have finally started to build for next season.

exactly , theres not a club in the world whose fans would say there owner does everything just as they want. At the end of the day no matter what colour we are on the first game of the season im going to be cheering on our players. Im chuffed with the signing , and hopefully more to come. Some pacey wingers and a striker and il be over the moon.

oh im so sorry mate. i forgot were cardiff city we can afford messi and ronaldo. what the hell was i thinking , to be happy and support my club after signing a very good young player tht has the potential to be a key player for us. Shoot me now. how dare i be positive and happy about something the club has done. Mate ur right , our whole history is gone, now tht we have changed colour everything we have done in the past has disappeared. i mean if you search for cardiff city now to know any info about them it says we started a few months ago . oh wait no it doesnt. if any fan whats to know the rich history of cardiff they can find it out. no colour of a shirt will change that. oh yeah and i forgot , whats tht ground we used to play on , i forget the name as we had to change grounds and now i aint even got a clue what it was called lol we should just never change , just have local owners tht cant afford to run our club, never change anything ever and go back to playing in devision 4 , struggling and having no real aim or ambition.

What a ridiculous post.
I have not commented but do fall in the category that you are telling to "get a grip"

Am I happy we are signing players - yes
Am I grateful for the investment - yes
Do I accept that a change of colour and badge was a pre requisite of the above - no
Will I happily accept playing in blue at home - never

If you are unconditionally happy about the red shirt now that we have signed a player, that is up to you and you are very lucky that you are able to feel that way - But please don't try and belittle those that aren't.

haha im not telling you to be over the moon tht were changed to red, what im actually telling you is to get a grip and enjoy tht your club have signed a great player rarther than dwell on something you cant change. I literally yday saw the signing and read 2 diffrent topics, in both of them i saw many people so negative. bringing up the debate etc. what are you going to do at the start of the season , when we play, just sit there in anger and moan about the colour of our kit, or support the players playing in tht kit, giving its all for the club. Tell me this , did we lose all our history and our club when we changed from ninian park to our new stadium. was all our history at ninian forgotton after that. my answer to tht is no, i still remember ninian and what we acheived there and still talk about games there , the legacy always lives on as long as you want it to be.

no club in the country are happy with their owners really, and we never will be no matter who we get. we feel we have so much control and influence on our club when really we dont. were stakeholders not shareholders , our opinions matter but are not the be all and end all. i dont see all our fans donating money to keep us going . This man has to try and make this club profitable other wise hes just giving away his money which is something which not many of our fans would do .

At the start of the season I will of course turn up and support the team, I hope I can do it will the same paasion that I have always shown. The colour of the shirt will probably dampem my enthusiasm to some extent - but we'll see.

And I think we can change it - maybe not this year, but continued support of the club and refusal to accept the rebrand will (I think) win the day and should not cause a rift with our owners.

I don't think the comparison to NP is a fair one. We all loved NP but we needed to porgress, yes we miss the place but the reason for moving was clealy to progress (capacity, facilities etc). The same cannot be said about the shirt - It is (in my opinion) a completely needless move.

Anyway - thanks for the reasoned response :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

i feel it is a good comparison, our brand as cardiff city is falling apart and something needs to be done to help us progress. We are a small brand with limited potential. Whilst i dont agree with how they have decided to gain us extra fans and make us a bigger brand ( changing to red) you gotta admit tht something needed to be done so as we could reach out to a greater audience. This is what i feel they are trying to do. Answer this , do u feel tht people even knew who were were in asia before vt? Because i know tht now whilst we arnt the best known team in asia we are now atleast known there now . Even this rebranding would have raised our profile there. the whole controversy would have caused more awarness of cardiff. Yes it may be abit needless and and we could have raised our brand awarness in asia in blue, but who are we to demand to know all the plans. This colour change could end up being a amasing one th could change our club for the good, it may be needless. We dont know, But one thing im sure of , if we do gain any extra income and raise the awarness of our club and truely progress over the next few years there wont be many pro blue fans who will admit it was worth it. All i know is id prefer to go into this season and be happy and enjoy watching my team, than hold a big grudge and be angry and anoyed watching them, im not saying to just give up and never mention it again , if you read my origional post ull see im saying is enjoy our club, enjoy the signings, enjoy seeing our team, yes if you still have a problem with the colour and try and get it back. but for gods sake realise tht its going to happen this season, its not the be all and end all, people are acting like we have no club now were red, and nothing can happen without someone complaining about it. We could bloody sign messi right now and win every cup in the world and people would within minuites of hearing the news complain about us not being blue. Thats what annoys me . We cant enjoy anything without tht bloody debate happening. Its taking the fun and enjoyment out of supporting your club. We signed munch yesterday and i saw more debate about red/blue than the player. im fed up of the negativity, i wanted to know more about the player and and was expecting mass excitment of seeing him in the team, but instead i got the red blue debate, an dhow he looks shit with tht shirt.
