THAT BADGE!

Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:13 pm

Lads I have just been to our Club Shop to see the new shirts for myself close up and I can honestly say we are gonna be a laughing stock next season, never mind the fact that we will be wearing RED at home the badge looks bloody awful, cheap and tacky and I just hope and pray that someone decides to change it and fast! Thank God I am a Casual! Teza.

I don,t think there is any doubt that the badge will be changed, the one karl designed on here is a cracker, (in my opinion) if we end up with that one it will be a bonus to me because it is better than our badge we have had since sams st davids cross, again, my opinion.

FFS Look at it this way Would you rather be a Cardiff City fan, with the investment from a Malaysian success ful businessman worth millions, or a Glasgow Rangers fan? I know the answer, embrace it and look forward to the new season!

Annis, just goes to show how the tide of feelings can change once the dust settles and you then start to realise that you don't know what you've got till it's gone.i think a lot of reluctant reds will be feeling the same.

Annis, I can only say that after today there is absolutely no way that anything with that badge on will EVER be worn by me.

The badge will change next year without a doubt. The statement about consulting with fans going forward on various issues I suspect was primarily down to the realisation that the badge was simply awful and that fans can come up with better as shown

Re: THAT BADGE!

Are the owners planning to change the seating to red? all the blue on the outside of the stadium will need changing??

If there are planning to make changes at the CCS they should do it quick, because we will be wearing these f**king red shirts in a blue stadium..we will look stupid ... the badge is just a disgrace..

I was emailing Alan Whiteley last week and i got the impression that the badge will change in a year or so...

I hate the badge, I used to not mind it but the more I look at it the more I dislike it. I'm still going to be buy the blue away shirt though. I'll never wear red.

Re: THAT BADGE!

Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:23 pm

i'm embracing all the changes but the badge is a design disaster!! i like the idea of incoroprating the dragon with the blubird as we are the capital of wales after all, but the dragon is very old school and could have been modinised slightly and reduced in size!! hopefully it will get amended and modernised next season!! Just have to grin and bear it this season and eventually well get used to it!! well most of us hopefully!!

none of us like it but it doesnt change our history!! :ayatollah:

Re: THAT BADGE!

Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:55 pm

There was a dragon and a daffodil on last season's badge. Is that not 'Welsh' enough? I called into the club shop yesterday. The full horror of what the Malaysians have done hit me between the eyes. Hate them more with every passing day. They are just money lenders.

Re: THAT BADGE!

Fri Jun 22, 2012 10:37 pm

nobody is asking you to buy it. problem is the minority have nothing else in their lives to express themselves so they jump on the bandwagon of change. scared of change ? pump your millions in and make your
own badge. "oh yeah you cant". shut up and move on.

The point is mate it's supposed to be OUR BADGE and when you see it you will feel as sick as I did yesterday. We deserve a badge that we can all be proud of. We had one. END OF. TEZA. :ayatollah:

Spot on Terry and this new one is a Disgrace to our club, even most of the City staff feel the same.

The new badge is a piece of crap. I am trying to accept it for my sanity, but it ain't working.

However, apart from the fact that last years badge is imprinted in our brain and is therefore seen as OURS, is it really a good badge, it does seem a bit formulaic and dated.

If we were still blue and were redesigning our badge I think I'd be all for it. After seeing Karl's designs we could have something a lot better and a bit more modern.

Can we commission Karl to produce us a new badge. modern but still pointing to our identity?

Thanks for the mention Wayne.
I did have a meeting with city about the badge. They were very impressed but as you can see they are going ahead with this seasons red badge as it is now. Wether or not they ask me a bit further down the line to produce a new badge I don't know but fingers crossed I get the opportunity. I'm still plugging away creating designs whilst looking for work at the same time.. I'm hoping that I'm lucky in both the badge and employment. I did drop the hint but city have a designer so dont think there's room for me lol..

That's a crying shame mate because I love your round badge and would love to see it on our shirt, maybe next season? Good luck with everything mate, Teza.

IF we are having any input on the badge for next season then I have to say that the badge in your Avatar is a VAST improvement on the current one.

However, the over reaction I find on this fourm to a badge has amazed me, seems the badge is more important than the change to red, which I feel far outweighs the disappointment in the badge! You lose more recognition on the pitch visually from going to red.

However, Don't think many teams will be laughing too much when we are hopefully near the summit of the table for the majority of the season!! (crosses fingers!*) :ayatollah:
